Another call from someone claiming to be from my part of South Asia, pretending to be legit. They wanted to know how old I was, my postcode, and kept asking if I was happy with my bank and credit cards. When I said yes, he said someone would call me back. They used Nationwide Bank as their cover. Tried reaching Nationwide myself but you need an account to get past their phone menu. I'm pretty busy right now, might try again later in the week if I get a chance.

Got a ring from this call centre in India today. The bloke wanted me to verify my postcode before even saying who he was or what he wanted. I told him it depends who’s calling, then he said he was from Nationwide Building Society about some fraud on my account. I told him I don’t even have a Nationwide account and moved from that address ages ago, and he just hung up on me! When will these annoying and cheeky cold calls finally be stopped? It was only on the last call when they finally spoke up, trying to chat about my life insurance. I made it clear that I don’t share personal details with strangers, and just like that, they hung up. I’d label them as irritating nuisance calls, or perhaps just another spam operation.

I picked up the phone and said hi, then this bloke with a Geordie accent goes "that's exactly what it says on the..." followed by some bleeping sounds, and then they just hung up on me.

Got a call where the person on the other end barely said a name, I asked them to say it again properly and then realised it wasn’t me they were after. Told them they’d got the wrong number and they just hung up straight away. I could hear others talking in the background, so I’m pretty sure it was some kind of scam or a cold call. Usually, I don’t pick up unknown numbers but was waiting for a call from Cambridge so thought I'd risk it. How did they even know my number? Weird! Anyway, I’ve blocked the number now.

Got a call from some guy with an Indian accent asking if I had life insurance. I just said it’s none of his business and then ended the call. Honestly, why is it that these scammy calls always seem to come from places like India? Such a pain!
