Earlier today, around 9 o’clock on Saturday 13th June 2020, I got a call from 01223 368203. My Samsung phone showed the caller ID as "Cambridge Joining Technology Limited." I’m not connected to anyone in Cambridge or that company, but I picked up anyway. A guy with a robot voice said it was HMRC calling and I had to press 1 to avoid a fine of £1,000 or something similar. I suspected it was a scam but pressed 1 just to see what happens. Then I spoke to someone with an Indian accent and told them to take my number off their list. They quickly hung up on me. After that, I found out Cambridge Joining Technology Ltd is actually a legitimate firm and rang the mobile listed on their site to warn them their name is being used in scams. The person I spoke to didn’t know a thing about the call.
