I got a call from 01223 178276 today, and they told me there was some fraud linked to my phone and to press 1. I just ended the call straight away. It’s crazy that nothing seems to be done to stop numbers like this.

some bloke named john williams rang pretending to be from virgin about my account, sounded fishy as hell, asked him where he got the number from after about 50 seconds then told him to jog on. honestly, dont waste your time chatting with these scammers!

Some bloke called claiming to be from Visa, said there'd been a couple of dodgy payments this morning for Amazon and Western Union that didn't match our usual spending. When I asked what number he was calling from, all I got was a rubbish, muffled answer. Told him we don't even have a Visa card, just a Mastercard, and he hung up pretty quick. I've blocked the number since then.

So this call came through saying I was under investigation for some fraud with HMRC, and if I didn’t hit button 1 to talk to my case officer, they’d send a warrant to arrest me straight away and I’d be in custody soon after. I just hung up right away.

Got a recorded message at first, then finally got through to someone real. They were warning me that the police would be coming to arrest me over some incorrect tax documents. I cut the call short as soon as I asked them to verify my birthdate.

Got a couple of calls from this number earlier. I tried calling back after blocking my own number, but it just said the number wasn’t valid or something. Seems a bit dodgy to me.
