I just got a call once more from someone named "Shirley" claiming there was a problem with my IP address. I played along and hit 1, then some other muppet picked up. I didn’t hold back and told them exactly where to shove it, nice and clear in proper straightforward English. That daft sod promptly ended the call on me!!!

just got this weird recorded message from someone called ‘shirley’ with an american accent saying my internet was at risk and would be cut off because my system was “compromised”. then it told me to press 1 to talk to an engineer, which i didn’t do obviously. i stayed on the line for a bit and it seemed like they were hoping i’d press something, but when i didn’t the call just ended. no way i was falling for that.
