01222330131 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 01222330131 👆 is reported as a persistent scam originating from callers claiming to be Microsoft or Amazon support, often featuring Asian accents. The callers falsely warn of computer issues or hacking, attempt to gain remote access, and demand payment for fraudulent fixes. Many have reported rude, abusive, or aggressive behaviour when challenged. Calls frequently occur early in the morning and multiple times daily, causing distress, especially to the elderly or vulnerable. The scammers do not leave messages and hang up abruptly if questioned. Telephone Preference Service (TPS) registration offers little protection, but call blockers have proven effective for some. Users are advised to ignore such calls, never provide personal or financial details, and report incidents to relevant authorities to help reduce this nuisance.

Got two calls today from a man with an Indian accent saying he was from Microsoft. Definitely a scam, and he got really rude when I told him I knew he was trying to con me. Then later, an Indian woman called me twice asking how I was, so I just hung up straight away. Both those calls showed as private numbers.

Got a call from some Asian ladies saying my computer had errors and was hacked. Yeah, I had some issues lately but already got them fixed. This was definitely just someone trying to mess about. Everyone faces tech problems sometimes, but if you didn’t ask for help, it’s a scam. Just don’t answer back, hang up straight away.

I've received yet another call from this number purporting to be from Microsoft. The chap on the line became rather irate when I mentioned I was tied up at the moment and requested a specific time for him to ring back when I would be available at my computer. I'm fairly certain I've come across information suggesting that Microsoft doesn't engage in cold calling like this.

I'm absolutely fed up with the relentless tide of reports about this, yet it seems like no one is taking any proper action. It's blatantly obvious that it's a scam, especially since we don't even possess a computer! They claim to represent Microsoft and request access to our machine-ridiculous! Why on earth is nothing being done to put an end to this? People are actually being conned, and I'm just so exasperated by the whole situation. In this day and age, with all our advancements in technology, there should surely be some way to tackle this issue!

Got woken up by a phone ringing at 7.30 in the morning, just the sound of someone hanging up. I can't believe BT hasn't blocked this number yet. Honestly, they're a rubbish company. Having a landline nowadays is such a hassle, and it's all down to BT. To me, they're just as bad as the scammers themselves. They make money off these crooks while messing about all their genuine customers. BT might as well be partners in crime.

I just had a rather amusing phone call where the chap claimed my computer was under attack. When he inquired if it was switched on, I played along and replied in the affirmative. Then he pried about what I could see on my screen, to which I cheekily said it was filled with risqué photos, and suddenly, he hung up! Next time, I’m tempted to throw him a curveball by pretending to be interested in blokes; it’s far more entertaining than losing my temper. I’ve found that embracing a bit of childish fun really lifts my spirits, and now I can’t help but wait eagerly for the next time my phone rings!

I told him I didn’t even own a computer, then he asked if I had a laptop. I said I wasn’t falling for any of his tricks and he just hung up. I received a call from a woman claiming to be named Michelle, supposedly working for Microsoft. She insisted my computer was compromised and needed urgent attention. When I probed for more information about her, she became rather curt and unhelpful. I mentioned wanting to talk to a colleague of hers who might assist, and just like that, she hung up on me. Scammers, chatting away like they’re from Microsoft, trying to trick you into letting them sort your computer out. This bloke, an Asian guy, asked for my credit card - so I asked him if that’s what he wanted, and he said yeah. I told him I don’t even have a PC, but he just kept pushing, wanting to know if I had a credit card and how much money was in my account. I gave him a piece of my mind, and all he did was laugh. Some guy from Pakistan called, claiming he was with "Microsurf" (bit cheeky with the name, innit?) saying my PC had viruses and he could fix it for £100. I told him I wasn’t buying it, so he walked me through 'finding the viruses' on my computer. Turns out he just showed me a folder where my antivirus keeps the threats it’s caught - basically proof it’s doing its job. Absolute con! If you’re not good with computers, you might fall for this, but your antivirus isolating stuff doesn’t mean you’re infected. It’s just your protection working properly. Don't get scammed!

REPLY to comment on 16/03/2016 and a quick tip - it would be really helpful if you could mention who provides your phone service. A couple months back TalkTalk’s site got hacked! Today I got a call from 01222 330 131. I generally ignore calls from numbers I don’t recognise now. Just to confirm, my landline provider is Talk Talk. I’d ask everyone here - can you please say if your phone service is from Talk Talk?

I’m receiving incessant calls from this number, just as others have mentioned. The caller claims to be from Microsoft, yet when I explain that I don’t own a computer, the calls persist unabated. I’ve firmly asked him not to contact me again, even suggesting I might involve the authorities if it continues. My husband has also reiterated the message quite clearly, yet we still get these unwanted calls every single day. This harassment has been ongoing for over a year, albeit with sporadic breaks of a month or two here and there. Is there truly no way to put an end to these incessant calls?

Honestly, it was way more entertaining than just ending the call straight away if you’ve got a bit of time to spare.

They said they could sort my computer for a 'tiny' charge. Total con artists. Just ignore the call.

Some bloke with an Asian accent rang me saying my computer was hacked and wanted me to switch it on. I just hung up on him without a word. He called back straight away, asking why I’d cut him off and saying I needed to turn my PC on. I told him my lad deals with computers and will sort it out. I told him not to call again but he kept saying only he could fix it since he worked at Microsoft. I warned him I’d report his calls as harassment if he contacted me again.

Hello, I've received yet another call from this number. When I pointed out that such calls are against the law, their reply was simply, "Thank you for the information." It’s as though they’re blissfully unaware of the rules! It's absolutely laughable!

I received a rather unsavoury phone call from this number this morning. The chap on the other end practically told me to shove off and get lost after I expressed my disinterest. It’s quite shocking, really; surely there’s some action that can be taken about this? He must have been having a right stinker of a morning - it’s as if I was the last straw for him! Thankfully, I was only half-awake, or I would have been more bemused. Has anyone else experienced such rudeness? I specifically requested for my number to be removed, and he responded with a resounding "no" while shouting at me, followed by ordering me to get lost! In return, I told him to do the very same, but he continued with his tirade even as I hung up. What a palaver!

Had a weird call from someone saying they found a problem on my PC and that it was being hacked for illegal stuff. I told them I’m with Security Services and that I’ve already tracked their number, and they hung up straight away!

01222330131 Ive been getting calls from this number forever. The first time I picked up, they told me they were from Microsoft and needed to fix my computer because it was faulty. They wanted money for it, and since then the fee has gone up - it was only about £100 before. I told the bloke he was a “stupid scammer” and hung up before he could say anything back. I’ve now put my landline onto answerphone, but they keep ringing and never leave a message. Thankfully, they still haven’t got my mobile number.

Each morning, without fail, this number disturbs my slumber at the ungodly hour of 8am. Fortunately, since it's unfamiliar to me, I just let it ring. I do wish they would cease their incessant calling-I really struggle with my sleep as it is, and once I'm up, getting back to dreamland is nearly impossible. I'm tempted to pick up next time and inform them that I don’t own any gadgets like the Internet, a computer, a laptop, a Hudl, or even an iPhone. Perhaps that might just put an end to their relentless intrusion!

Got a call from an Asian guy claiming to be from Microsoft, talking about my laptop. I asked if we were just gonna waste each other's time (sometimes I humour them if I've got a moment) but he just kept repeating the same spiel. Then I told him he was breaking the law since I'm registered with the TPS.

Had a couple of calls from this number today. Before, they used 003201222330131 and 0031. The last time I answered, some bloke claimed he was from Microsoft, I just laughed and they ended the call. Best to just ignore it.

Got a call from 01222330131 twice, once yesterday and again early this morning at 7:50am on a Saturday. Looks like a typical scam to me. Don’t waste your time chatting with them, just hang up straight away. I’ve asked my phone company to block the number now.

Got a call last week from an Asian bloke (they’ve rung before). I told him I don’t use Windows but he went on accusing me of lying and told me to stop making stuff up! I lost it and warned him if they kept bothering me, I’d report to the Police - then he just hung up. Today, same routine. When I asked for his number, he said he’d only give it after I listened to him. Got fed up again, so I did 1471, grabbed the number and blocked it straight away. These callers are so rude and threatening, don’t see why there isn’t a proper way to block them for good.

I've been getting loads of calls this week from them, they just keep ringing and won’t give up, which is really annoying since it’s my work phone. They leave it ringing forever like they’re hoping to catch older folks off guard. When I spot the number, I just answer and hang up straight away. That seems to stop them from bothering me again the same day. They tried their nonsense on me a couple of years back. I knew it was a load of rubbish because all my computers run Linux, not Windows. And if you do have a Windows PC, like seriously, Microsoft never calls you out of the blue.

Got a call from 01222 330 131 today. Just read through all the comments this evening. About a year back, I had a call like this too. Now I just don’t answer if I don’t recognise the number. Here’s a thought for those leaving comments: can you mention what kind of phone you’re using - is it a mobile or a landline? A bit ago, TalkTalk’s website got hacked, and I’m curious if most folks getting these scam calls from India are TalkTalk customers?

01222330131 called me yesterday evening and again this morning, saying he was from some IT company and that I had a computer. I told him I didn’t, but he kept going on, saying my computer would be broken by tomorrow. He wanted £1000 to "upgrade" the computer that I don’t even own. He had an Indian accent and refused to give his name. I told him if he rings again, I’ll report it to the police. When I called the number back, I just got a recorded message saying the number doesn’t exist and to redial.

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent on 0740 saying he was from some Windows help team. I told him straight up he was lying and called him a scammer, told him to jog on and find real work. Tried dialing the number back but the network said it doesn’t exist at all.

Got a call from 01222330131 today, 8th March. Total computer scam. They said I owed £1000 to repair my PC after I told them I couldn’t get online. Watch out, these are just scammers trying it on.

I've been bombarded with numerous calls from this number purporting to be from Microsoft tech support. When I pressed for more specifics, the chap on the other end kept droning on about an issue with my computer. I firmly told him I didn’t own a computer and expressed my suspicion that it was a scam, inquiring how they had obtained my details. At that point, he just cut the call. I attempted to ring them back, but all I got was an incessant tone, as if their line was faulty. Quite fishy, if you ask me!

Got a call today from some bloke saying my computer’s been hacked and Microsoft will be notified, and that I wouldn’t be able to use it after tomorrow. He was really rude, swearing and calling me a dumb English person, even said I had an expiry date. These con artists need to be tracked down and stopped from ringing people.

Received a call at my residence bright and early at 8 o'clock on the 27th of February, 2016. When I inquired about the purpose of the call, a woman of Indian descent replied with a cryptic 'nothing'. This number has been persistent, ringing me on several occasions, but I tend to ignore it because I’m usually busy at work.

Bloody scammer from India. I asked for his name and he said Paul Watson. I told him that doesn’t sound very Indian, is it? Told him to be honest now. He kept saying he was Paul Watson. I told him I’m actually a police officer, so what's your real name then? Heard silence for a bit, then I swear I caught him getting nervous before he cut me off.

Just got a call from a guy with an Asian accent around 7:50 this morning. Said he was from Microsoft and calling from some place in London called Cardinal Place. Totally a scam, but it’s really worrying thinking about how some older or vulnerable people might fall for it. I absolutely despise these scammers.
