Beware of this car insurance con. They call saying you supposedly had an accident - probably hoping you had a small fender bender they can blow up into some dodgy whiplash claim. These crooks are a big reason why our car insurance costs keep climbing, taking advantage of people willing to file fake claims. Honestly, I'd love to see both the scammers and the gullible folks who join in on this get nailed hard by the law. Makes you wonder, doesn’t it, that 'SCAM' and 'SCUM' are just a letter apart?

A person rang saying they were from a debt collection agency and claimed I'd been in some sort of accident.

Got a call from some debt management people around 8pm on Friday. They then suddenly mentioned something about me being in an accident that wasn’t my fault. It sounded dodgy, so I just ended the call right away.

Got a call from someone who supposedly knew about my car crash, which is odd because I haven’t got a car at all. I called them out on their nonsense and right after, the woman just ended the call. Total scam!

I told them I'd totally messed myself after downing about eight pints of Guinness and asked if that counts as an accident since I’ve never had a car crash. Then I jokingly asked if they’d get me a new pair of Levis. They just went silent and ended the call.
