This is definitely a scam related to PPI. I'd recommend just blocking the number. I'm absolutely fed up with these dodgy callers!

so this guy said he was ringing on behalf of British Telecom after a few secs but it sounded like he was talking from his kitchen or sum. a bit dodgy if u ask me but i told him i wasnt with bt and he just hung up straight away.

Picked up the call and it just went quiet on the other end.

Got a call from this number again, absolutely silent on the other end. I picked up and they just dropped the call almost immediately.

this lady rang me saying i’d been in a crash or something, then the moment i asked what company she was from, she just cut the call. bit rubbish if you ask me! luckily, they called my mobile so i’ve got their number saved: 0121 942 2986. i’m going to report them to the tps soon enough.

Ignored a call just now, didn’t even pick up. Yesterday at lunch, got a call on my landline from some accident claims firm. Tried looking up the number today but it showed as private.

This daft woman just wouldn’t quit calling even after I asked her loads of times to stop. I ended up telling her that if she kept it up, I’d track her down and run her dog over. She suddenly ended the call real quick after that.

Had the same thing happen to me like another user mentioned, so I’ll just put it in my own words. I held off picking up to see if the caller ID would show who it was, but it stayed blank. When I finally answered, the line went dead straight away. Probably some auto dialler giving up after a bit.
