6 yearsEven though the caller ID showed the Birmingham area code 0121, my BT phone labelled the incoming call as INTERNATIONAL, which made me suspicious straight away. An automated message claimed to be from Mastercard security, telling me to press 1 to be connected. From past experience, I know legitimate calls about card issues come from real people, so I ended the call immediately. I then tried calling the number back, but got a message saying it’s “not in use.” This is definitely a scam.
