So this number popped up as spam but, being a bit bored, I decided to answer it using my posh accent just to have a bit of fun. The person on the other end claimed I was seriously deep in debt and if I didn’t sort it out immediately, I’d lose my house by the end of the day! Sounds mad, right? I kept putting her on hold over and over until she started getting annoyed. Then I told her, “You never asked me my name, or confirmed any details, just jumped straight to asking for my bank card. I’ve just been wasting your time, and FYI, this call is being recorded to pass onto the police.” She totally freaked out and hung up straight away. Strange how that worked!

Some shaky voice of a young woman picked up, saying she was from some "(missed the start) consultancy" or something like that. She didn’t bother to ask who I was before launching into this whole routine about "I hear you’ve been involved in a car accident that wasn't your fault". Told her I hadn’t been in any crash and asked her to take me off their call list. She just cut me off straight away. Oh, and they rang my mobile, which I hardly ever share and isn’t listed anywhere.
