Received an email today with subject: recurring fees from your company from Karl. It seems my card has been billed every week over the past couple of months at your store, which is strange because I’ve never shopped there. I’ve already got in touch with my bank who stopped the most recent payment, but they advised me to reach out to you for the rest. Seems like a big Russian hack aimed at small to medium sized companies. The email seemed genuine at first but luckily I looked up this number here before my partner went ahead with any refund. Just like many here, I got an email saying something like, 'Hello, I've noticed a charge from your shop on my bank account but I've never shopped with you. I've reported it to the police and they told me to reach out to the store.' It was signed off by Alex Sheffield with some phone and fax numbers. I just deleted it straight away.

Total scam alert! Whenever an email kicks off with “Good Day”, you just know it’s dodgy or someone stuck in the 1800s. So the message said something like, “Good Day, noticed a charge from your store on my bank statement but I have never been there. I’ve reported this to the police who advised me to get in touch with your shop directly. Awaiting your response. I received an email claiming there was a purchase from my shop on someone's bank statement, but they said they never bought anything from us. The message said they’d contacted the police and were told to reach out to the store. It was signed by an "Alex Sheffield" with a phone number +44 12 185 25 21 and a fax number too. Pretty sure it’s a scam, so I’d advise against returning the call!

Got an email like this too, so I looked at my till records and there was no sign of any deal with that person. After searching online, I figured out it’s a scam. It’s so frustrating because I’m short on time and now I’ve had to spend ages trying to fix the mess.

Today I received this email which looks like a total ####SCAM####. It’s from someone called Alex [email protected][###] and the subject is the same as the sender. The message says they spotted a payment on their bank statement from my shop but swear they’ve never shopped here. They say the cops told them to get in touch with the store directly, so they want me to sort it out. It ends with Alex’s full details including Sheffield and even a phone and fax number: +44 12 185 25 21 and +44 22 185 25 62. Feels dodgy to me.

Got this dodgy email linked to this phone number. The message said something like: "Good afternoon, I noticed a charge on my bank statement from your business, but I've never shopped there. Problem is, we don’t have any shop or store, nor any record of this person buying anything from us online. Plus, that phone number doesn’t even look like a proper UK number. Seems totally like a scam.
