Getting caught up in a phone scam about credit cards can happen to anyone. If you end up sharing your details by accident, make sure you ring up your actual credit card company straight away. They’ll be able to shut down your existing card and send you a replacement with a fresh number, so no one can misuse your account.

I got this recorded call claiming to be from Amazon Prime, saying they’ll take £39.99 from my account unless I press 1 to stop it. I just hung up straight away. It’s the fifth time I’ve had calls like this in one day! Some say £39.99, some say £79.99. When I rang my card provider about something else, they told me this is a well known scam going around at the moment.
