Just a short while after I updated my PayPal password, I received a call on my mobile from this particular number. It's rather unsettling, as PayPal had sent me a notification earlier indicating that a new device, branded under the name "Manchester Man UK," seemed to have been linked to my account. The coincidence is rather dubious, at least in my mind. When I picked up the call, I could hear someone on the line, but they didn’t utter a word. Quite peculiar, isn’t it?

Got a call from someone claiming they could help stop scam calls, and surprisingly, they already knew my email and full home address. They then mentioned I pay my phone bill by direct debit but contradicted themselves by stating my credit card expires 08/22. I told them straight up I wasn't giving any card details at all. As soon as I said that, the line went dead! Pretty clear they were after all my card info.

Got a call today about the telephone preference service from the number 01218 203443. The bloke claimed he could put a stop to all cold calls (including his own). I said no way, then he told me it’s not like asking for bank info which I pointed out is exactly what it felt like since cards can be used to take money out. Next thing he just hung up on me. I've been receiving these incessant marketing calls around midday regarding TPS registration and blocking. It's become an absolute nuisance, as they keep calling me every single day without fail!

Just got a call on my home phone from someone named James, sounded Asian. I’m 76 and have trouble hearing but that doesn’t mean I’m daft. Told him to get lost, and I hope he does. How can these scam folks keep ringing people? They really should be banned. Made me feel pretty annoyed!

Allegedly, they claim to provide a safeguard against pesky calls! They asked me to verify my debit card details for some reason, but couldn’t quite explain why. I politely turned them down… Surely, this number ought to have been obliterated by now?

Today at about 5.34pm, I got a call from a guy with an Asian accent. He called me by my name and said he was from some free phone blocking service, promising I wouldn’t get any more annoying calls from now on. I said, oh that’s great, thanks a lot. Then I hung up right as he was about to ask me to confirm my address. It’s a giveaway for a scam when they start with small talk like asking how your day’s been. Real calls usually just get straight to the point.

It's quite astonishing that, in our modern era brimming with technology, these nuisance callers manage to slip under the radar and evade any proper consequences. It’s glaringly obvious that they're profiting off those who are easily deceived, and this endless cycle of annoyance feels relentless. Unless significant financial repercussions are put in place, they'll undoubtedly persist in their deceitful ways. It hardly seems just to keep subjecting innocent folks to this barrage of harassment.

I GOT A CALL FROM SOMEONE CLAIMING TO BE FROM A FREE PHONE BLOCKING COMPANY, A MAN WHO SAID MY NAME TO MAKE SURE I WAS HIM. HE THEN TOLD ME I HAD PAID MY PHONE BILL BY DIRECT DEBIT, WHICH I SAID THATS WHAT MOST PEOPLE DO. HE THEN WANTED ME TO GIVE THE EXPIRY DATE ON MY CREDIT CARD AND I REFUSED, THEN HE JUST HUNG UP. I HAVE OVER 7000 SUSPICIOUS CALLS ON MY PHONE. WHY DONT THE AUTHORITIES TRACK THESE PEOPLE DOWN AND STOP THEM?

Received a dodgy phone call aimed at an older family member. They pretended to represent a BT call-blocking service.
