Got a call from a number with a 927 area code - which I don’t think is a thing in Birmingham. Didn’t pick up. Nowadays, I just leave any unknown numbers go straight to voicemail. If it’s something important, they’ll leave a message. Otherwise, they just keep ringing if you pick up. Ignore enough calls like that and they usually give up. But of course, someone else might catch the next one. Best bet is to look up the number before bothering. If it’s legit, they’ll ring again or you can always call back. Hope more people do this so these calls stop happening.

I got a call from this number but didn’t pick up because I’m pretty sure Birmingham doesn’t use the 927 area code. These days, I just don’t answer calls from numbers I don’t know. If it was really urgent, they’d leave a voicemail or something.

It’s weird how they get rude and start swearing even if you just politely say no thanks. The accent, whether Indian or whatever, is hard to understand and their English is pretty poor too.

Next thing, he’s throwing insults my way like “white piece of rubbish” and some nasty swear words including “mother f#### c.t”. Just received a call from this number, and lo and behold, they hung up on me. I’m here, ready to see if they ring back. I do enjoy stretching these interactions out over a leisurely coffee, and then I cheekily inquire about the compensation they plan to offer me. It’s quite amusing how quickly they end the call-typically within a couple of seconds! Another little trick I employ is insisting on providing them with an email for my local police station as my contact. For instance, I might say: [email protected]. Surprise, surprise! They cut the line yet again-usually just two seconds in! 😂😂😆

Honestly, Gladstone Brooks is a right joke; they've wrapped up the PPI business ages ago. It’s quite comical, isn't it? Every time I pick up the phone, it’s always someone with a very British name but an unmistakably Indian accent. If you had any claims about PPI, you’re well past your time as that was all settled years back. It's high time these nuisance callers were put in their place.

I received a rather dubious phone call from a chap named Albert Wilson. I must say, if he were trying to sound believable, he could’ve opted for a name that aligns better with my accent. Nevertheless, he claimed I was due a payment of £1826, which rang alarm bells as it’s quite a typical sum thrown around by scammers. I decided to entertain his little ruse, fully aware that I’ve never lodged a claim for PPI. He insisted that a cheque could be on its way to me, but first, he needed to verify some personal details, starting with my bank sort code. I questioned why he required that for identity verification since I could easily provide any random six-digit number. His irritation was palpable, and before I knew it, he’d disconnected. What a pathetic character! Such people truly deserve a good chasing down!

Received a call from someone in India. The English was quite poor, and they didn’t seem to have a grasp of the situation. They claimed there would be just four questions, but there ended up being many more than that. I'd recommend not engaging with them.
