Got a call from someone with an Indian accent who already knew my name and my BMW’s registration number. He asked when I purchased the car and wanted my full name, claiming I could be owed around £10,000 compensation. I didn’t share anything because it felt like a scam straight away. I’m curious though, how on earth do these scammers get hold of such details?
