01218096133 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 01218096133 👆 is reported as a persistent scam mostly using automated calls with American-accented voices claiming to be from HMRC. Callers threaten arrest or legal action over supposed unpaid taxes or refunds and urge victims to call back or pay immediately. Many note the calls come from overseas criminals, often India-based, trying to extract banking or personal info. HMRC never contacts people this way or demands payments on the phone. Users advise ignoring, blocking, or even calling back to waste scammers’ time. The scam targets both individuals and companies, using scare tactics and fake solicitor warnings. Despite registrations on the TPS, calls still get through. Overall, the number is linked strongly to fraudulent activity and should be treated with extreme caution.

Got a call from someone saying they're from HMRC, threatening legal trouble. The way they spoke was odd, like it wasn't really from here - they mentioned an Officer Kyle Evens and some "division hotline." I'd say just ignore it, doesn't sound legit.

Just a heads up, you might get a ring from someone pretending to be HMRC telling you there’s a problem with your tax refund or that you owe some unpaid tax. Sometimes they leave a voicemail asking you to call them back. Don’t fall for it though, HMRC wouldn’t get in touch like that and they certainly wouldn’t ask for your bank or other personal financial details over the phone.

Give ’em a bell and tie ’em up with your time. Don’t just block or ignore - keep ’em busy so they move on quicker to bother someone else.

Today I received a call claiming to be from HMRC, which really shook me up. There was an automated warning saying I’d be arrested for tax evasion unless I handed over cash immediately. It’s obvious these scams come from groups in India, experts at terrifying people and tricking them into paying during the call. Such a dodgy setup!

Got a robo call from some American number saying they were from HMRC, total scam. Watch out folks!

Like loads of others, I got this automated call claiming to be from HMRC, saying there was an issue and I or my lawyer had to ring the number straight away or else serious trouble would follow. Being an accountant with years of experience, it was clearly a scam to me, but I can imagine how easily it would frighten people into doing what they say. HMRC would never threaten or demand bank info in a call like that. Make sure to warn your friends and family, especially the older ones who might be more easily fooled.

My bad, I guess they definitely rang me today - 14/10/2019 (Monday).

This was the first time I got a call from this number on my home phone. Thought I’d pick up just to check what it was about and maybe mess with them a bit since I guessed it was a scam. All I could hear were some strange beeping noises, then a woman’s voice said "goodbye" and hung up. After seeing what others have said here, I’m definitely blocking the number.

I got a call on my home phone for the first time from this number. Thought I’d pick up to find out what it was about and maybe mess around a bit since I figured it was a scam. All I got was some weird beeping sounds and then a woman saying “goodbye”. After seeing what others have said here, I’m definitely blocking it now.

Heads up about this number! It’s definitely still active and you can ring it back. It’s a group from India, working non-stop for ages now, trying to pull scams on people here in the UK. Honestly, we need to take a stand. One thing that helps is to download those auto redial apps and just keep ringing them or pretend to be someone who’s fallen for it to slow them down. Just blocking or ignoring won’t stop them - it just makes them move on quicker to someone else. Let’s try to fight back somehow!

Got a call claiming to be from HMRC, they wanted me to contact a certain number right away, mentioning something about a solicitor. The woman on the line had this robotic American accent, which screamed scam to me. Best thing is to just hang up and block the number, don’t waste your time!

Complete con! They urge you to ring back, with a recorded message warning that ignoring them could lead to solicitors getting involved. I’d wager that if you do call back, you’re either in for a nasty surprise on your phone bill with some sky-high premium charges, or you’ll end up speaking to someone masquerading as a tax official or the like, attempting to fish for your bank info and other personal details. It's all very dodgy!

Answered the call, heard some strange buzzing noises followed by a couple of beeps, then a lady's voice said "Goodbye". Instantly blocked.

Never just trust someone on the phone saying they’re from a company or whatever. If someone rings up asking for money, wanting you to sign into an account, or pushing some offer, be super wary! It’s best not to hand over any info cause chances are, they’re just after your cash.

Got a call from some scammer saying I hadn’t paid enough taxes and that they’re gonna send the police after me. They kept telling me to hit 1 so I could "talk to an officer" and sort out the payment right there. Totally dodgy!

Got a voicemail from someone pretending to be HMRC, said I owed them money. The voice was a woman with an American accent. This is the second call I've gotten from them, so I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number.

SCAMMERS ALERT! I've been receiving calls purportedly from HMRC, and let me tell you, they're nothing but a bunch of charlatans. They throw around all sorts of menacing threats, but it's all absolute rubbish! HMRC would never reach out in such a fashion. Do yourself a favour and just brush off these buffoons without a second thought; you're in no danger whatsoever.

Got a robo call earlier, sounded like some American bloke pretending to be HMRC, saying we owed some money and it was urgent. Complete rubbish - HMRC would never ring like that, let alone with an American accent! Honestly, who thinks that helps, given it’s a UK government agency? I nearly gave them a piece of my mind, hope they actually heard it through the phone. I’ve blocked the number now but I’m sure they’ll just ring from somewhere else. We’re on the TPS list but doesn’t seem to stop these dodgy calls at all.

Just a heads up - this number 01218096133 is definitely dodgy. It’s a classic scam line. If you want to help, try ringing it back a few times and wasting their time, or download a redial app to use your free minutes battling these crooks. Don’t worry if they block you straight away, keep that auto redial running. There’s only a handful of scammers running this number daily for months now, but loads of us fighting back. I’ve managed to cause quite a stir on their end all on my own. Let’s keep at it and see if we can shut them down. Good luck out there!

Got a call on our work mobile, which my manager uses, from someone pretending to be HMRC. When I rang back, they said they needed to speak to our Company Director and threatened to suspend his passport over some payment 'error'. Funny enough, he’d just gone abroad, so it was clearly rubbish. HMRC don’t get in touch like this, so don’t worry about these scammers at all.

Got a call this morning on the 15th Oct 2019 at about 10:13, some bloke was threatening me saying I owed £800 to HMRC or they’d send the cops after me. Total scam! I just put the phone down and said I’d be contacting HMRC myself. Didn’t get another call, thankfully. Be careful, it’s a fraud for sure!

Got a voicemail from what sounded like an HMRC officer, but it was one of those robotic voices. Seemed a bit fishy to me.
