Got a message saying I dropped £900 at IKEA on my Halifax card. But I don’t even have an account with Halifax. Pretty sure it’s a scam so I just blocked the number straight away.

Some bloke rang claiming he was from the "UK benefits dept" and got proper narked when I called him a scammer. He started telling me to take the blindfold off my ears or summat. I had the call on speaker so my hubby could hear the nonsense. He kept going on about how I should listen up, said he was just doing his job. Then out of nowhere, he asked if I had any dodgy debts I didn’t know about. I wasn’t having it and just ended the call.

I found out this number is from Cookson Gold, a company that sells jewellery supplies. I checked their site but never shared my info with them, so somehow their website must be getting your number. Cold calls like these are against the law now, and they shouldn’t be taking or using your personal data without permission according to GDPR rules.
