Got one of those quiet hang-up calls again, pretty sure it’s scammers fishing for info or trying to mess with your devices. If you happen to call back, and they get into your data, your phone company won’t cover you ‘cause they’ll claim you rang first. Best to just let it ring out and then jot down everything about the call. Definitely report it to the cops and the ICO. Real callers won’t mind if you’re cautious like that.

I've just had a couple of calls from these con artists. The first time, I simply told them I wasn’t interested and hung up, but wouldn’t you know it, I got another call right away from a different bloke! He claimed someone was trying to hack into my computer. I called him out as a scammer and asked him how he got hold of my number, to which he replied it was from Microsoft. I told him that if that were the case, he should shoot me an email, as I was rather sceptical about his claims. He then mentioned there were other ways to assist me, but I firmly told him not to call me again unless he could provide details via email, before hanging up once more. Just a heads up everyone-never, under any circumstances, give away your personal details to cold callers, no matter who they pretentiously claim to be!

This arvo, I got a call on my work landline from someone saying he was 'Michael from Microsoft’s tech support' - yeah, right! He even asked for me by name and if I was on ‘the computer’. I told him to prove it by sending an email, since obviously he’d have my address. He just dropped the call straight away! These scammers are a nightmare and really should be stopped. Got a call saying there was an issue with Microsoft and they needed to fix something on my PC. Really? Microsoft would never call like that! Totally a scam, don’t fall for it.

so this caller got chatting and ended up learning a bit of old english from my girlfriend, which was quite unexpected coming from Microsoft!

Honestly, do these idiots not stop? They claim they’re calling from Microsoft saying your computer’s got a big issue. Complete rubbish, Microsoft would NEVER, I mean NEVER ring you out of the blue like that. Best thing to do is just tell them to go away. It’s all just a scam to rob you, don’t fall into their trap.

Got a call from 01217900974 early this morning around 8:23. I picked up but there was nothing on the other end, just dead silence. I ended up hanging up, but what if it was something important? Couldve been urgent for all I know!

I had a call from "Microsoft" and somehow the person on the line picked up quite a bit of Anglo-Saxon from my girlfriend! It was pretty unexpected.

Somebody called claiming to be from Microsoft saying my computer was compromised. I wasn’t having any of it and gave them a piece of my mind, though not in the nicest way.

fed up with the calls, i just let her talk while i messaged in my chat, then told her I don’t even use Microsoft, what about Apple? she kept going so i said i've already ditched the device and wasn’t too nice about telling her to bugger off. yet again these huge companies just passing around your number like it’s nothing.

Identical to what others have mentioned-an individual with an Indian accent claiming to be from Microsoft. Best to hang up the call.

I got a call from someone with a foreign accent claiming to be from the Windows tech team. I cut them off with a quick "not you lot again" and slammed the phone down. They tried ringing back almost immediately, but I just ignored it.

This number has rung me a couple of times today. Whenever I pick up, there's no one on the other end - they just cut the call straight away.

Got two calls from some random number within the hour, had to tell them to stop talking nonsense before I just ended the call.

I'm absolutely tired of receiving calls from this number claiming to be Microsoft, insisting there's an issue with my computer. When I mentioned that I would need to verify their number against my records, they hung up quicker than you can blink. I really wish they'd cease these persistent calls; I've got far more important things to deal with than this nonsense, even if they clearly don’t!
