0121790040 called me about a renewal charge for my TV service, and this has been happening for three years now! I told them my payments are sorted already, but they kept saying I’m tied into a contract with them. When I asked about cancelling, they mentioned a £79 early termination fee. I tried looking up the company online but couldn’t find anything about them. I haven’t paid up, and the manager said they’ll be ringing me back later today.

Someone called me saying they were from a company named Homecare, claiming they wanted to renew the insurance on my washing machine. I asked them which washing machine exactly, and they just said "any washing machine." Whenever I mentioned getting a new appliance, they switched to talking about a different one. They told me since I hadn’t made any claims, my premium was being lowered, but I still had about 3 years left on the policy and owed over £300. It all felt a bit dodgy to me.
