I got a call claiming to be from Domestic & General saying I was owed £149. They already had my name, address, bank details and the first four digits of my Visa card. Then they asked for the full card number to "verify" the info or check if I’d got a new card. I asked them to just send me a cheque, but they said they could only pay onto my card. That’s when I told them they were trying to scam me and ended the call. FYI, the genuine Domestic & General number is 0800 497 0789.
