Same old story like many have said - got two supposed Amazon charges on my card. Since it was a voicemail, pretty clear it’s a scam!

I've had the same call as others have mentioned before. The caller claimed there were a couple of dodgy transactions on my account and asked me to press 1. Cheers for highlighting this; I now realise it's all a scam!

Got a rather suspicious call today, much like what others have mentioned. It was an automated voice claiming to be from my bank, stating that there was an attempt to make a transaction with Amazon and some foreign payment. They prompted me to press 3 to confirm whether these were genuine purchases. I decided to hang up, and wouldn’t you know it, the same number rang me back three times in a mere twenty minutes! They hung up each time when I failed to answer with a greeting. I'm certain this is a complete scam, as there’s no way my bank would use this number!

This number seems to give me a bell almost every day, and the only thing that changes is one digit! I’ve stopped picking up now, but they always leave a voicemail saying, “We’ll try again tomorrow.” I have a hunch it might be something to do with Amazon.

Upon returning home, I discovered a rather odd voicemail featuring a recorded message rather than a real person. It claimed that a transaction of £300 was made for Amazon and an international bank transfer of £1100 had been charged to my card today. As I’ve never initiated these transactions, they prompted me to press 1 to void the payment or 2 to get in touch with their support team. I decided against both options, choosing instead to log into my banking app to review my card activity. To my relief, I couldn't find any trace of these supposed charges, leading me to suspect it might be a scam. Nonetheless, I’ll be conducting further investigations to ensure everything is in order.

I got a call saying there were two charges on my card and they wanted me to call back by pressing 2. I didn’t answer because I thought it was probably a scam.

I received one of those automated calls which purported to be from 'bank security,' warning me about two dubious transactions on my account - one being for Amazon and the other for an overseas money transfer. It requested that I press 1 to speak with some sort of adviser. I decided it was best to hang up right then and there, as I couldn't tell if it was an attempt to pull me into a banking scam or merely a trick to run up my phone bill with a premium rate line.

Got a call from this number saying I’d just spent £300 on Amazon and was sending £1100 overseas by bank transfer, all in a recorded message. They never asked me to verify who I was. I hung up straight away because banks don’t handle things like that at all.

Got a call from someone claiming to be my bank's fraud department, but they wanted me to give my sort code and account number. I told them they should already have that info, but they insisted on verifying it with me. Since I've already cancelled my debit card, they said they'd double-check and call back, which of course they never did. No shock there. When I rang the genuine fraud team at my bank, they confirmed this is a common scam happening at the moment. What a load of rubbish!

Got a call from 01217900113 once more on 18/10/2022. This number rings me almost every week around noon. They say they’re from Amazon Fraud Prevention, but it’s a scam for sure. Don’t pick up or hit option 1 or 2 - it’ll just connect you to some expensive premium line. I’ve reported it to BT and Action Fraud multiple times, but no luck so far. So I’ve just blocked it on my phone now.

Got a creepy call from some supposed bank person - never said which bank though - telling me there were charges on my account for a car. These Irish numbers keep calling me with similar stuff recently, so I’m guessing any calls from abroad are just scams. This one’s definitely one as well. Is it not possible to block or ban these dodgy "businesses"? Cheers for the helpful website!

I got calls from this number 5 times today on my home phone. It’s defo a bank scam trying to steal money, really dodgy. Plus, I had a private number ring my mobile claiming to be from Santander. The bloke’s voice sounded exactly like the same fella who rang me about 7 months back and gave me a right fright. I reckon it’s all connected somehow. Properly risky stuff.
