Initially, I received a voicemail that was rather succinct-it simply contained a name and a request for a call back. A bit perplexed because my search turned up nothing, I decided to ring them back. The conversation took a rather odd turn; they started probing about my employment history and background, mentioning something about a possible job opportunity, yet they were remarkably vague about the nature of their business. The name of the company sounded muffled, which didn’t exactly instil confidence. What struck me as particularly intrusive was their inquiry regarding the school my child attended-claiming it was necessary for job searches in the area. Naturally, I opted to provide them with some fabricated details. I thought it was a bit odd that they didn’t ask for my address or seem to have any familiarity with my CV, which should have included my postcode. Oddly enough, they appeared to know where I’m currently employed but continued to ask a string of bizarre questions about my past jobs. Had I not been so curious about the whole affair, I would have likely hung up. It was not your run-of-the-mill recruitment call, that’s for sure. While there’s a possibility it could be a legitimate business, I'd advise exercising caution with the information you share, and don't hesitate to end the call if things don't sit right with you.
