I had a chat regarding some form of recompense. Mentioned I had stayed at a hotel last year that had quite the reputation for complaints. They’ve now opted to offer everyone a bit of compensation. To my surprise, they seemed to have a fair bit of my personal details on file.

I got a call from this number on my phone, but at first, there was just silence. Then a message popped up saying welcome to Equifirst - which I’ve never heard about. It asked whether I’m registered to log in or not. I’ve gone ahead and blocked it now.

It was pretty funny actually, they kept saying I had damage to my home like mould and cracks in the walls and floor, but I’ve just moved into a brand new house and it’s all perfect. They phoned me up two times, each time asking for personal info about the place. Bit ridiculous if you ask me!

Had a call from this bloke who was pushing window sales, kept saying we'd arranged a call back. I told him we hadn't and weren't interested, but he just wouldn't take no for an answer. Then he ended up calling my mum really stupid! Honestly, glad I wasn’t there when he said that. Proper rude behaviour.

So a random number called me, claimed it was the hotel I stayed at last year. They said there's been loads of complaints and that they're giving out some sort of compensation. They wanted me to chat with their legal team before sending a cheque. The weird bit? They somehow already had all my info like my home address and stuff! Seems a bit dodgy to me.
