Got calls from this unknown number loads of times each day. I answered once and they were chatting about boilers for homeowners. Told them I’m not a homeowner and asked them to stop calling, but they keep ringing even though I’ve blocked the number several times.

A quick search revealed they do have a presence, but they’re operating under a different number somewhere else in the UK, definitely not in Birmingham. They had my name and contact number but missed out on my postcode. The caller mentioned that if my boiler was older than seven years, they’d swap it out at no cost. However, upon providing my postcode, it became clear they had some sort of database, as they knew my boiler's age. They also probed about my breakdown cover costs and how much I was shelling out for gas. By this stage, I was rather dubious. Curiosity got the better of me, and I asked if they were funded by the Government; she straight up said they were a private entity. A private firm giving away free boilers? I found that a tad hard to swallow. So, I decided to cut the conversation short.
