9 yearsToday, I received a rather peculiar call on my home phone. An EU woman, presumably of a certain age, came through with a rather piercing voice, albeit her English was rather off-kilter. The moment I picked up, she exclaimed, “Oh, I thought this was NMR*” followed by what sounded like ‘93’ before the line abruptly went dead. When I rang back, she seemed utterly perplexed and asked me slowly, “What are you talking about?” It appeared she was keen to prolong the conversation, but for what reason?
