Got a call out of the blue saying I’d made it into the last round of some TV wordsearch competition I took part in a few weeks back. The woman on the phone said I needed to send £1.95 for postage on some sort of tickets they were supposedly sending as a runner-up prize. She even said she’d wait if I didn’t have my bank card nearby! Yeah, right! I wasn’t buying it.

So I got a call about some royal mail postage fee for more details about a TV competition puzzle. Before that, I got a letter through the post telling me I’d made it into the final round of a puzzle contest I foolishly joined online just before Christmas. But they asked me to pay £1.95 for Royal Mail delivery to get my winnings, which really made me suspicious. I’m not totally sure it’s a scam, but it sounds a bit dodgy. I’ve heard others say it's a scam number, so I definitely won’t be sending them any money.

They’re clearly getting pretty desperate now, probably thinking switching up their numbers might trick more people.
