Said they were from some kind of customer help service and that the call would be recorded. I just muted the phone and set it aside, and they ended the call quite fast, probably cause they have a set number of people to bother. Today, a rather dodgy number rang my 12-year-old daughter's mobile while she was at school. A woman on the other end asked for me directly, but my clever daughter, sensing something was off, claimed she didn't know that identity. Then, they had the audacity to request her bank details to supposedly process a PPI refund. When my daughter pointed out that she's just a child without a bank account, the woman hesitated for a moment but then ploughed on with the same intrusive inquiries. Thankfully, my daughter's friend eventually hung up the call for her as it was clearly distressing for her. It’s utterly abhorrent that such individuals can access personal details and then target innocent youngsters, frightening them into divulging sensitive information. If I could track them down, I would definitely report them to the authorities. It’s high time something is done to tackle this unacceptable behaviour.

I'm quite annoyed, really. How is it that my home and mobile numbers have ended up in their hands? When I signed up for services, I was never under the impression that my information would be passed on to third parties. I had a fleeting interaction with one of their callers who claimed there was a refund waiting for me from my bank. I politely told her I wasn't interested in pursuing any refund. As I was about to end the call, she sounded taken aback and exclaimed, "You don’t fancy a refund that could be worth over a thousand pounds?" to which I replied firmly, "No, thank you," before saying goodbye. Fast forward about a month, and lo and behold, I started receiving similar calls again on both my home and mobile lines. This time, I've chosen to ignore them, and I'm actively trying to block their number on my mobile device. It makes me wonder, is it possible to report this fraudulent activity to the police?

There’s a noticeable lag before my phone actually rings. The people calling keep asking for some woman I’ve never heard of. They refuse to say which company they’re from. I told them if they somehow got my number, they must have been tricked. I requested to have my number taken off their list, they said okay but then kept ringing me daily. Had to block the number in the end.

They rang me, took ages to get through, then asked for a Miss but said some bloke’s name after. What a load of muppets!

Received a call from this number. Does anyone have any idea who it might be? We tried to ring back immediately, but it just went unanswered every time. Quite curious, really!

I had a call on my mobile from a number in Birmingham, claiming that I might be owed money due to a travel-related mis-sell concerning PPI. When I queried how they had obtained my name and number, their response was rather shaky, mentioning something about my details being provided by a third party because I supposedly consented to sharing my number with relevant companies! The call abruptly ended before they could gather any more details from me. Curious about the situation, I decided to ring back the Birmingham number using my landline while keeping my number hidden. I was informed that the company responsible is called Reactiv Media, based in Halifax, West Yorkshire. They reiterated that they receive people's information legitimately from third-party sources. At that point, I chose to hang up the call.

This number keeps ringing me multiple times each day - when I told them to stop and erase my info, they replied saying they already know where I live and might show up at my place. I’ve reported it to the police.

I received a rather unsettling call today at precisely 12:20. The woman on the line knew my name and was incredibly insistent, rather overbearing if you ask me. She wanted to inquire about how much I pay for insurance through my bank, all while suggesting she could arrange a refund, and then proceeded to request my bank account details. I pointed out that if I needed anything from my bank, I'd simply walk in and ask them directly. To say she was rude would be an understatement; the entire exchange was quite brief. I'm simply baffled and irritated that our personal information is being handed over to these fraudulent characters, and it’s disheartening to think that people actually work for such deceitful enterprises. It's utterly appalling behaviour.

I received a call around half past one this afternoon, on a Tuesday. I was quite taken aback, as I hadn’t the faintest clue who was trying to reach me. I opted not to pick up since I was unaware of their identity. Apparently, the call originated from Birmingham. It baffles me how they managed to get hold of my number, seeing as I exclusively use my mobile for family communication.

COMPLETE RIP-OFF! They told me my dad took out a loan back in 2012, but I told them their info was wrong because he passed away in 2010. Then this guy, sounded Indian, started calling me all sorts of names, like a proper nasty b*****d, and said he’d dig my dad up if I didn’t prove otherwise. It upset me so much I ended the call. He rang me again shouting insults like “you little English b*****d.” I hung up again and finally rang the police. They’re looking into it now.

I received a call from 01216472889 and they seemed to know both my name and my address. I have absolutely no idea how they obtained that information, as I rarely use my landline and certainly don’t share it with anyone. These sorts of companies really need to be put out of action. I’ve already contacted my bank to let them know about it. Beware, it seems like a classic scam!

I've been bombarded with roughly twenty calls each week, and I've no clue how they managed to acquire my name or phone number.

I've received multiple calls from this number, and each time they would hang up on me. However, during the latest call, I actually got somebody on the other end. They inquired about whether I've ever applied for a bank loan, to which I promptly disconnected. Clearly, it's just another scammer trying their luck! - caller: Scammer

There was a really long silence when I picked up, and since I've just gone through two open heart operations and am being closely watched by doctors, I figured it was my hospital calling. After that awkward pause, they asked about some overpayment on a loan from 2011. Honestly, I don’t want to deal with this stuff right now, I'm still trying to get better from a big surgery.

This number has been ringing me daily throughout the week at the most nuisance hours! I’ve tried returning their calls on two occasions, but they cut off immediately. After reading what others have shared, I’m inclined to block them.

I recommend blocking all withheld numbers. Most modern phones have a handy feature that lets you block calls from telemarketers directly from the display. It’s a great way to keep those pesky sales pitches at bay!

Just like others, I got a call saying I qualified for a loan from back before 2012. Told them I never had one and ended the call. Blocked the number straight away. Seriously wanna find out who’s sharing my name and phone info.

Had pretty much the same thing happen to me. Someone called saying I was owed money back from some financial deal I’d made. Asked me which company it was with and what credit cards I owned. I told them straight up I wasn’t going to share that info on a call and that I don’t trust anyone ringing about PPI refunds. The bloke just hung up on me without saying anything else.

Got a call claiming I might be owed money back on a loan because of being overcharged and they needed some info from me. When I asked for the lender's name, they asked if I'd taken out a loan before 2012 for one of three things - car, furniture, and something else I can't recall. When I asked them to be clearer about who they actually were, they just said thank you and ended the call.
