Said they were from some kind of customer help service and that the call would be recorded. I just muted the phone and set it aside, and they ended the call quite fast, probably cause they have a set number of people to bother. Today, my 12-year-old daughter got a call on her mobile while she was at school. Some woman asked for me by name, but my daughter was sharp enough to say she didn’t know anyone by that name. Then, they started asking for her bank info, claiming they needed it to send her a refund for PPI. My daughter told them she was only 12, didn’t have a bank account, and questioned how she could be owed a refund at her age. The woman paused for a moment but then went on repeating the same questions. My daughter's friend ended up hanging up because she was getting really frightened. It's awful that these people have access to personal info and are targeting children like this, trying to get their bank details. If I knew who they were, I’d definitely report them to the cops. Something really needs to be done to stop these horrible calls.

I'm so annoyed! How on earth did they manage to get both my home and mobile numbers? When I signed up for things, I never gave anyone permission to share my info with other companies. I picked up one call from them and they told me I was owed a refund from my bank and they could sort it out for me. I told them straight away I wasn’t interested in any refund and was about to hang up, but then the caller sounded shocked, saying it could be a refund of over a thousand pounds or more. I just said no thanks again and ended the call. A few weeks later, I started getting calls from them again on both my landline and mobile. I decided to ignore the calls this time and tried blocking the number on my phone. Does anyone know if it’s worth reporting this to the police or some scam watchdog? It's really frustrating having these annoying calls keep coming.

Received a call from this number. Does anyone have any idea who it might be? We tried to ring back immediately, but it just went unanswered every time. Quite curious, really!

Got a call on my mobile from a Birmingham area code, they said I might owe money related to some missold travel or PPI claims. When I asked how they had my details, they gave a dodgy answer about a third party providing my number because I supposedly agreed to share it with relevant companies. I cut the call short before they could ask anything else. Later, I rang back the Birmingham number on my landline but hid my caller ID. The name Reactiv Media came up, said to be based in Halifax, West Yorkshire. They repeated the same spiel about getting personal info legitimately from third parties. Didn’t bother continuing the conversation and ended the call.

This number keeps ringing me multiple times each day - when I told them to stop and erase my info, they replied saying they already know where I live and might show up at my place. I’ve reported it to the police.

Today around 12:20, I got a call from a woman who already knew my name. She was really pushy and kept talking over me, asking about how much I pay for insurance through my bank and even said she could offer me a refund. She wanted my bank details, but I told her if I needed anything done with my bank, I’d just go there in person. She was quite rude, so I ended the call quickly. It’s so annoying that people’s names and numbers get handed over to these scammers, and it baffles me that anyone would actually work for these shady companies. Totally unacceptable behaviour.

Received a call from this number today, Tuesday, around 1:35 pm. I have no clue who they are and didn't pick up. I looked them up afterwards and it said they're from Birmingham, but I have no idea how they got my number since I only share it with family. Very strange!

COMPLETE RIP-OFF! They told me my dad took out a loan back in 2012, but I told them their info was wrong because he passed away in 2010. Then this guy, sounded Indian, started calling me all sorts of names, like a proper nasty b*****d, and said he’d dig my dad up if I didn’t prove otherwise. It upset me so much I ended the call. He rang me again shouting insults like “you little English b*****d.” I hung up again and finally rang the police. They’re looking into it now.

I got a ring from 01216472889 and shockin'ly, they called me by my name and even said my address! No idea how they found that out since I barely use my landline and don't share the number with anyone. This kind of thing should honestly be banned. I contacted my bank straight away to let them know. Total scam - watch out everyone!

I kept getting calls from this number but they’d always just hang up. On one of the rare times I actually got someone on the phone, they started asking me if I’d ever got a bank loan. Didn’t stick around, just ended the call. Pretty clear they’re just some spam caller.

There was a really long silence when I picked up, and since I've just gone through two open heart operations and am being closely watched by doctors, I figured it was my hospital calling. After that awkward pause, they asked about some overpayment on a loan from 2011. Honestly, I don’t want to deal with this stuff right now, I'm still trying to get better from a big surgery.

I've started blocking any calls that come up as private. Luckily, my phone is quite modern and it actually lets me block sales calls straight from the screen, which makes dealing with them a bit easier.

Just like others, I got a call saying I qualified for a loan from back before 2012. Told them I never had one and ended the call. Blocked the number straight away. Seriously wanna find out who’s sharing my name and phone info.

Had pretty much the same thing happen to me. Someone called saying I was owed money back from some financial deal I’d made. Asked me which company it was with and what credit cards I owned. I told them straight up I wasn’t going to share that info on a call and that I don’t trust anyone ringing about PPI refunds. The bloke just hung up on me without saying anything else.

Got a call claiming I might be owed money back on a loan because of being overcharged and they needed some info from me. When I asked for the lender's name, they asked if I'd taken out a loan before 2012 for one of three things - car, furniture, and something else I can't recall. When I asked them to be clearer about who they actually were, they just said thank you and ended the call.
