Got a call from a woman with an American accent on a recorded message claiming she was from my bank. She told me someone tried to take £600 from overseas from my account and said if I didn’t press 1 the payment would go through. I rang my bank to check and they confirmed it was definitely a scam.

I received a rather unsettling call today from a woman with an American accent. She left a recorded message claiming to be from my bank. According to her, there was a request for a £600 payment from my account, supposedly from overseas, and if I didn’t press 1, they would proceed with the transaction. Quite alarmed, I rang my bank immediately. They assured me it was nothing more than a scam. - Caller: SCAM ARTIST!
