Someone called saying my computer was hacked, claiming to be from BT and even gave an employee ID. Then they handed me over to a "security specialist" but I ended the call straight away.

Got a call from someone saying they were with BT, warning me my internet would be cut off for a week. Sounded dodgy right away. They couldn’t tell me BT’s actual registered address and mentioned they were calling from London - which didn’t add up because the number showed as a Birmingham one. Definitely a scam, so watch out!

Didn't get any voicemail from this number. Ring was about 3:13pm on 24/10/17. Seems like a scam to me, since loads of others mentioned similar problems around that time.

The guy said he was from BT but couldn’t even remember his own name, which was Adrian or something. Thought that was a bit dodgy, so I just ended the call right there!

On the 24th of October at about 3:16 pm, I got a call from a super loud call centre. It was so noisy I couldn’t make out what they were trying to say. After a bit of me staying quiet, they just ended the call.

I just got a call where they said there’s a problem with my internet or something like that. They claimed someone in California was using my IP address. I knew it was dodgy, so as soon as they started asking for remote access to my computer, I hung up immediately. Definitely a scam trying to get in.
