I received a call on my mobile, picked it up, and they just hung up on me.

I received an unsolicited call on my mobile at around half nine on the 1st of November, 2017. The voice on the other end introduced herself as Linda and bizarrely claimed she had information about me being involved in a car accident. I couldn't believe my ears! I responded quite firmly, "Absolutely not! How on earth did you obtain my mobile number?" She quickly apologised and said she'd remove me from their list before abruptly hanging up. This experience was thoroughly unsettling, to say the least. It’s apparent that someone out there is peddling mobile numbers to these pesky cold-callers. I’ve never experienced such a call on my mobile before, and it left me feeling rather uneasy.
