Got a call today on my landline, which I hardly ever use, from 0121 6303995. A really polite woman got on saying something about a heating grant. I’m pretty wary of these calls so I quickly said I wasn’t interested. But what freaked me out was that she didn’t just use my first name, she even used the nickname everyone calls me by! How on earth could she know that?

Got a call from a number starting with 01216, which I later found out isn’t even a valid area code. I just let it ring out to voicemail, no message was left anyway. I looked it up here to see if it was dodgy, and yep, turned out to be a scam. So I blocked it straight away.

Well, I’m from Gwynedd too, and it seems like North Wales folks are getting these calls a lot lately. Let it ring out and go to voicemail, but of course, as expected, there was no message left. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now.

She insisted it was just market research, trying to see if folks knew about grant options, so she thought it was alright. I told her our loft was already fully insulated, thanks. Then she asked when we last had insulation done and I said it was done in the past five years. She said sorry for the disturbance and hung up nicely.
