Just like many others have mentioned, I received a call from a lady representing Pearl Advice Services, claiming I had a recent car accident in which I wasn’t to blame. As soon as I responded with a firm ‘no’, she abruptly hung up on me. The call quality was rather poor, to boot.

Just like so many others, I received a call from this number today, with someone introducing themselves as part of the Pearl Advice Service. They asked me, "I've been told you were involved in a car accident, is that true?"
I’m at work, mind you, and I only answer calls that might be significant.
I can only picture the recruitment process for these roles:
Boss - "Right, here’s the deal: you’ll be ringing up folks out of the blue, catching them while they’re busy, and claiming you’ve heard they’ve had a car crash. Ask them if it’s accurate. Truthfully, only about one in a thousand will respond in the affirmative. If they say yes, jot down their details and I’ll follow up later."
Interviewee - "And what happens when you follow up?"
Boss - "Honestly, not a clue. We’ve never managed to get hold of anyone who actually has been in an accident. But just keep making those calls."

Today, I got a rather unusual call from this number inquiring about some sort of accident. As it happens, my vehicle was involved in a minor collision not long ago. I informed the woman on the other end that the matter was already being dealt with by my insurance provider. I had to hang up shortly after that.

I answered and greeted the caller, but there was a bit of a pause before a woman eventually introduced herself as being from some sort of advisory service.
