Somebody rang my elderly mum pretending to be from Amazon, saying they’d been charging her £99 a month because her account was supposedly overdue. It’s really upsetting to hear her so upset over it. Please don’t hand over any info to callers like this. If you use Amazon, it’s safest to hang up and get in touch with them through their official website instead. Honestly, I don’t get how these scammers aren’t shut down yet!

this number called me twice within 10 minutes but i didnt answer since ive been gettin calls from it for the last couple of weeks. the first time there was just silence anyway.

Lately, I've been getting this automated call on my landline claiming to be from Amazon quite often. I only checked the number this time using 1471, and found it here on this site. I've now blocked it through my BT Call Protect because it's becoming really annoying. Every time I catch the start of the message with that "Hi, I'm from Amazon" recording, I just end the call straight away so I don’t hear everything. I'm based in Oxfordshire. Hopefully, they’re not using other numbers as well.

I received a rather suspicious call claiming to be from Amazon Prime, stating that my direct debit would soon be deducted, especially since I had signed up for a trial back in December. The caller suggested accessing my devices remotely because my laptop and tablet weren’t functioning as they should. Alarmingly, he went on to mention that our bank details might be at risk. He encouraged me to input some codes myself, which raised all sorts of red flags! It hit me that they were the ones who called, and I was merely attempting to cancel the direct debit. That was a narrow escape... be vigilant, everyone!
