I received a rather bizarre call claiming I’d been involved in a car accident. I went along with the ruse for a bit, but just as they were getting ready to end the call, I asked, “What’s my name then?” Their reply? They couldn't disclose that information. I pointed out that a legitimate business would have confirmed my identity first before making such claims. At that point, they hung up on me! Curious, I inquired if anyone else had experienced a similar call, and they assured me they had. Apparently, they were trying to get people to pay for something or another. What a dodgy setup!
