Had this really pushy guy, sounded Asian, ringing me up about some boiler grants. After I hung up, he phoned straight back warning that my phone might get disconnected soon. Then, on the third go, he tried pulling the doctor card, saying he needed to update my personal info. I switched to speaker, and everyone round here had a good chuckle at how daft his scam was.

I got a call from a bloke who spoke with what I think was an Irish accent. He said “Good afternoon” and then just stayed silent for nearly 10 seconds before hanging up. Pretty dodgy if you ask me! Best just to not pick up.

Some guy called, sounded like he was Asian, kept asking if the householder was in. I told him we had no interest in his stuff and asked him to take my number off his list. Hung up on him. Then, within like ten minutes, he rang back about 14 times! I ignored every single one of his calls.

This morning, a bloke kept calling me claiming we’d chatted before Christmas about a boiler grant. He had called about 4 times already, so I told him I wasn’t interested and hung up. Right after, he called again but I let it ring out. Then he rang another 7 times! When I finally picked up again, I told him to buzz off. He replied, “Why you telling me that? I’m ringing from your local NHS hospital about a doctor.” It sounded really odd to me. I told him flat out to stop lying because he wasn’t even calling from a local number. Honestly, it felt a bit creepy.

In just one minute, I got four calls back to back, each time they asked for me first, then my hubby. This bloke, who sounded Asian and had a thick accent, insisted we'd rung him. Being asian, i get calls like this pretty much daily, so i doubt it’s about race or anything. A lot of the time its a pre-recorded voice just saying "Goodbye", sometimes it’s from people looking for property owners, and other times they want you to press 3 or trick you into dialing 1471 then ring some premium number. There’s been times where the calls were downright rude too.
