I received a call from someone claiming to be 'William' who spoke with a strong Asian accent. He said he was from a telephone preferences service. After he verified my name, address, and phone number, he tried to extract my bank card information. When I made it clear that I wouldn't be sharing such details, he abruptly hung up. It all seemed rather dodgy since this service supposedly doesn’t charge a fee. When I tried to return the call, no one picked up on the other end. Quite concerning, to say the least!

Claimed they were phoning to provide a service that would prevent any unidentified numbers from reaching me.
