Got a call from 0121 512 5440, a local Birmingham number. A woman calling herself Amy started talking about some company, but I could barely catch what it was. She claimed I’d been in an accident - which is funny, as I don’t drive and have no memory of any crash! Feels like another dodgy accident scam, hoping to make a quick buck. Honestly, how do these lot even get hold of our numbers? Proper suspicious!

Somebody called me using a woman’s name, claiming I’d been in a car crash. I quickly told them to get lost and slammed the phone down. Then I went ahead and blocked the number.

had some sort of crash they said! i tried asking when it happened but got nothing back. the call just cut off. ive blocked the number now!

Got a call, thought it was legit but turned out to be some kind of accidental scam, so I just blocked the number straight away.

I just said yes, even though it wasn’t true, and then she asked me when and where. I told her, well, you called me, so you should already know. Naturally, the line then went dead.

beware of scams! if someone asks if you were in an accident or wants you to confirm your name, never respond with "yes". just say goodbye and end the call immediately. they record these calls and use your "yes" as proof that you agreed to something!
