They already had my name, foreign phone number, and knew I didn’t live in the UK. When they rang, they said they were offering help to Brits abroad who might have been sold dodgy financial products. I mentioned my partner works at the FCA, and the bloke chuckled, going “oh, probably not your lot then.” Seemed polite enough but definitely felt like the usual “have you been mis-sold” scam calls. Could be dodgy.

I figured it was a bit suspect when they rang me up, knowing I reside abroad yet still had my name and international number. The chap on the line claimed he was assisting Brits residing overseas who might have been improperly sold financial products. When I mentioned my partner was with the FCA, he chuckled and replied, “Well, perhaps not for you then.” While he was courteous enough, it was evident that this was just another one of those calls reminiscent of the dreaded “have you been mis-sold PPI” nonsense. Could very well be a dodgy scheme.

I’m based in Portugal and these scam calls keep coming all day! Does anyone know if calls to UK 20mg are free or not? It’s getting so annoying with all these dodgy numbers ringing me.
