Got a call from some claims firm saying I'd been in a recent accident. I didn't answer and the number was blocked anyway.

Some bloke rang me saying he was from a company dealing with accident claims, claiming I’d been in one. I asked him why he was ringing on a Saturday night especially since I’m on the TPS, and he just let out a big yawn before cutting me off. Bit weird if you ask me.

Got a call from 01214488796 around 11 in the morning, I was upstairs and just as I reached my phone the ringing stopped. I used 1471 to check the number, and a recorded voice said the number isn’t active anymore - kinda strange since it had just rang. I looked it up out of curiosity, saw the 0121 code which is Birmingham, so I’m gonna get in touch with BT and see what’s going on. Will update if I hear anything back.

On 6th November 2015 at about 10:54, my phone rang and there was just silence at first. After a moment, a man speaking with an Asian accent asked if he was speaking to me by name. I didn’t feel right about it, so I just hung up straight away.

Someone kept ringing me, saying they were contacting me about a injury claim involving the person I had an accident with not long ago. But they never gave me the company name or any details, and when I asked them to speak to my insurer, they just shut down completely. Weird thing is, I’m ex-directory, so I have no idea how they got hold of my number. Also, when I tried calling back, the number seems to be dead. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.

Got two calls less than five minutes apart, both trying to push legal services. They rang different numbers but both linked to the same place. One number’s ex-directory through BT, the other’s with Virgin Media and specifically set to block marketing calls. The number looks like it’s from the West Midlands, but I’m pretty sure the calls came from abroad. Hopefully it’s just some random auto-dialler messing about rather than anything targeted.
