Some bloke rang me saying he was from a company dealing with accident claims, claiming I’d been in one. I asked him why he was ringing on a Saturday night especially since I’m on the TPS, and he just let out a big yawn before cutting me off. Bit weird if you ask me.

I used 1471 to check the number, and a recorded voice said the number isn’t active anymore - kinda strange since it had just rang. On the 11th of June, 2015, at 10.54 a.m., my phone rang. After a brief period of silence, an Asian man asked to speak with me by name. However, I quickly decided to end the call and hung up the receiver.

I received several calls from someone who claimed to be representing an injury claim related to the person I had an accident with a few weeks ago. However, they consistently refused to disclose the name of the company they were calling from and avoided providing any details when I asked them to contact my insurer instead. It is perplexing as to how they obtained my number since I am ex-directory, and when attempting to call back, the number seemed to be out of service.

Within a span of 3 minutes, two phone calls were received, promoting legal services. The calls were made to different numbers but from the same address. Interestingly, one of the numbers is not listed in the phone directory (BT), while the other number is registered to not receive marketing calls (Virgin Media). It is evident that these calls originated from outside the UK, although the area code seems to suggest a connection with the West Midlands. Hopefully, this is just a coincidence and not a deliberate attempt by a random dialler.
