Got a call today, decided to look up the number and ended up here on this site. Had a similar issue a couple months back and now it’s popped up again. Is BT actually taking steps to block these annoying calls as complaints pile up? They keep cycling through new numbers, which is infuriating. Wouldn’t it make more sense to keep them on the line, have a bit of a natter, and maybe help track down these folk around Birmingham? Maybe then some of these calls could actually be traced. Got a call from a bloke claiming to be with BT, telling me my computer was getting loads of dodgy info and he needed to fix it. I told him to jog on and hung up straight away. There's no way BT would ring me up like that. Maybe I'm not the youngest, but I’m not daft!

Got a ring from a guy with an Asian accent claiming he was with BT. He told me there was an issue with the broadband around here. As soon as I said I'd hang up and call BT myself to verify, he just cut off straight away. I've gone ahead and blocked the number now.

On January 28th I got a call from a really rude woman with an Asian accent, she said she was calling from BT and told me my internet was hacked. She wanted me to switch on my computer so she could help me install some sort of protection. I told her I’d call BT directly to check she was legit, and then she just hung up on me. When I rang BT they confirmed it was a scam.

Today I called BT after getting loads of calls from different people, some men and some women, who had what sounded like Asian accents. They kept telling me my internet was going to be cut off soon! Honestly fed up with attempting to report these nasty callers, there’s gotta be some kinda reason why they’re still getting away with it all this time. Feels like the phone companies might be in on it or something dodgy’s happening behind the scenes. How come they’re still running despite all the complaints? This afternoon, I got a phone call from a woman with a strong Indian accent who said she was calling on behalf of BT. It was quite difficult to follow her properly. She mentioned there were some complaints about my internet router. Just to hear what she’d say, I told her my connection was running slow. She offered to check it out for me. there's no way a router can be 'under attack', that’s just bollocks from whoever called you. sounds like a right muppet to me! best thing you can do is save mistergroup s.r.o on your phone and block all these dodgy calls. if you can’t be bothered, just reply with "pentonville prison maternity ward" - they get all confused and hang up pretty quick. then just use mistergroup s.r.o to sort out the rest of the twats calling you.

Got a call from someone claiming they were with BT, saying my router was being hacked. They asked me to hit Ctrl and R to open a window that supposedly displayed errors on my computer. I asked them for my customer account number, which they couldn’t provide. After that, they tried to get me to let them connect via TeamViewer, but I ended the call. The person sounded quite rude throughout.

Down here in Brighton, there’s a lot of chatter about Uber drivers. The council made it clear that folks with a criminal record aren’t allowed to work as cabbies, but it seems Uber doesn't always stick to that. Honestly, I wouldn't feel safe letting my daughter jump in an Uber; you never really know who's behind the wheel. They could be someone fresh out of prison for all you know. Even the driver’s photo on the app doesn’t guarantee much - it really doesn’t reassure me.

On Friday 20th January 2017, I got a call from a woman who said she worked for BT. She claimed there was an issue with my internet and insisted I switch on my laptop so she could help fix it. I mentioned I had an appointment, but she said she’d ring back today, Monday 23rd January, which she just did. The caller, who introduced herself as Rose and sounded Asian, told me to press the windows key and "R" at the same time on my laptop. I told her I’d already contacted BT and was warned it’s a scam. She got quite aggressive and even threatened me before slamming the phone down.
