Got a call at 14:03 on Monday 16th January 2016 but no voicemail was left. Tried ringing back at 16:45 that day and got a recorded message saying their voicemail was full and couldn’t take any more messages. Maybe they’re getting loads of complaints or something?

Had three calls already today from 01214453137, all with the same story. They claim to be from BT technical support. We’re actually waiting for a callback from our doctor. This really isn’t on. BT really need to put an end to this nonsense.

I got a call from a woman claiming she worked for BT and warned me that googling stuff was infecting my PC with viruses. She said my hub had been sending alerts to their team. When I told her my computer wasn’t actually at home right now, she was quite abrupt and unfriendly.

Got a call from a number claiming to be BT. Just so you know, BT don’t usually ring out of the blue like this, and when I asked, they said they don’t have your details. Better off reporting it to BT customer support to be safe.

Avoid picking up that call; it's a complete con. I didn’t have any debt with them, but I know plenty of others who do.

Got a call from someone with an Asian accent saying they were from BT. They claimed my internet had been infected with nasty codes. Didn’t get far with me tho! Totally dodgy, so I hung up and looked the number up here. It was around 3pm when they rang.

I received a phone call from a lady claiming to be Angela Mathew, and she had an Indian accent. Out of curiosity, I inquired about her office location and the specifics of her call. She mentioned London, but when I pressed her for a more precise area, she seemed utterly stumped and couldn't provide a single detail about the city she supposedly worked in. Then she abruptly hung up! When I tried to call back, all I got was a voicemail saying the inbox was full. Honestly, for someone named Angela Mathew, her English left much to be desired.

Some bloke rang me saying he was Chris Morris from BT Internet. I checked with BT through their online chat and they said they never made any calls to me. So, defo a scam. Watch out coz he tried to get me to go on my computer, saying there was strange stuff happening on YouTube and other apps. The caller ID 1471 showed the number as 01214453137.

Received a rather peculiar call today from an Indian lady named "Jennifer Janet" - sounds a bit dodgy, doesn’t it? She claimed I had some sort of viruses that needed fixing and was offering to upgrade my internet - quite the cheek! I decided to humour her for a bit but when she started instructing me to press certain keys on my keyboard, I just played along. When she asked me what was on my screen, I absolutely let her have it! I told her exactly what I thought, calling her out for being a scammer, and told her to take a hike! Surprisingly, she ended the call pretty swiftly! (What a shame!) Folks, don't hold back when these chancers come calling. Say what you like, don’t hesitate to give them a piece of your mind, as they have no power over you. Just remember to stay vigilant and never follow their dubious instructions!

Had a call like that too. The bloke claimed he was with BT and said my router was showing errors, which threw me off because BT always refers to it as a hub. Then he asked if I was at my PC. I said no and explained I wasn’t up for messing about with it, so he just hung up.

BT needs to take action. These scammers trick trusting folks and end up taking over their computers along with personal, sensitive and financial details. They’re crooks working from overseas, hiding behind a BT number to make themselves look legit.

Don’t give any details to them. They’re definitely not BT. When I said to the guy if they were really BT they wouldn’t mind me calling BT direct, he said then I’d catch him out! He wanted to talk about the internet box, but I kept telling him I’d call BT. He just thanked me and hung up after that.

This morning, I had a call regarding some interference with my BT Hub, and they wanted me to log in to something. It's a bit of a routine for them, I must say! I’ve made it clear that I don’t log into anything for anyone. I told them I’d notify BT about their antics and promptly hung up. Honestly, the easiest tactic is to ensure they can't get a single word out before you put the phone down!

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent saying someone hacked into my Wi-Fi box. He said BT landline told him it wasn’t even with BT, but I’m with EE anyway. Rang EE and they said nothing was wrong on their end. When I called the 0121 number back, there was no ring tone, just an automated message saying the voicemail was full. If that was really BT, I’d expect an official company message.

Got a call from some young bloke, was thinkin of messing with him a bit but then figured why bother. Told him to jog on and would you believe he phoned me again!!! Left a message calling me bloody butch, so I've gone ahead and reported it to the Information Commissioner https://ico.org.uk/for-the-public/thanks. Do the same, folks, to put an end to these pest calls. Report them under sales calls and with enough complaints, maybe they’ll shut them down.

Just got a call from this number. Some woman with a Pakistani accent said she was from BT tech support. BT’s helpline is free, no way would they charge you like this. I remember using their service ages ago when I first got BT internet. She said there was an issue with my connection and I needed to update my antivirus. I told her it sounded like rubbish straight away. When I asked if she was actually from BT, she just cut the call.

My wife got a call about all this stuff, and it really upset her a lot. It’s worrying since not everyone is as cautious as she is. BT and other internet companies need to be way more careful to prevent this. It feels like the same issue keeps popping up again and again. Why aren’t we learning from it and putting proper measures in place to block these annoying scam calls? I’m concerned these scammers or whoever’s backing them are getting smarter than the providers. PLEASE, SORT THIS OUT NOW!

Just had a weird pair of calls - first a bloke who was impossible to understand, then a woman a couple of hours later asking if I recognised her. When I told her it was a scam (cos I’d already checked the number on this site), she called me a b**** and hung up. What’s really concerning is how they seemed to know I’d just got a new router from BT. Is someone inside BT leaking our personal details to these scammers, or were they just incredibly lucky both times?

WATCH OUT!!!! Received a call today from an Asian woman claiming there was an issue with my BT internet. I told her I actually use Sky, not BT, and that was the end of that call. Shortly after, an Indian man rang me, saying he was from Sky and even mentioned my account number. He said he needed to check my PC and asked me to press Ctrl + R, which opened a box at the bottom left of my screen. Then he told me to clear the box and press Ctrl + J, which led me to a site called [#]teamviewer. That’s when I got suspicious and said so, and he quickly hung up!

Just got a call like this too - the lady told me my computer was being hacked. I asked her (her name was Nancy) if she was ringing from India, and she said no, she was calling from London. Looking back, I wish I’d asked for more details like exactly where in London or even the street. We got off lightly, but loads of others will get scammed and end up out of pocket. I reckon these calls are being forwarded from India to Birmingham or somewhere local. BT, you seriously need to sort this mess out ASAP.

Today I got a call from a guy with an Indian accent saying he was from BT. He told me my broadband router was showing error alerts and asked if I was by my computer. Got a call from an Indian lady about problems with my router sending errors to their server. 1) I’m not a BT customer, 2) BT never cold calls. It’s a scam to try and access your computer then ask for money before deleting your files. They’re using a UK phone number but it’s not legit. Someone should write to their MP to make sure companies giving out UK numbers to scammers get prosecuted for fraud!

I just let him ramble on for about 15 minutes before telling him i’m not a BT customer. Then he started asking why i was wasting his time and told me to f##k off, fat b####h. And a load of other rude stuff i couldn’t properly catch because of his accent and the bad language. This could really upset elderly people. Blocked straight away!
