I've been getting calls almost daily from different numbers, all starting with the same 0121 code, and they all claim to be from BT Openreach saying there's an issue with my router. Lately though, they've switched it up and now the calls come from random numbers on my local 01229 area code. Since the number keeps changing, blocking them is pretty much useless. Feels like some kind of scam.

I got around 10 calls from someone called Lena, claiming to be from BT Openreach. I asked her if she could give me more info and maybe a date for the appointment since she seemed quite pleasant. But then, out of nowhere, she just ended the call. Proper rude if you ask me!

I got a call around 3:15 pm on 13/07/18 from a woman saying she was from BT Openreach. She told me our BT broadband was being hacked by folks in Nigeria - problem is, we don't have BT broadband or even BT as our provider! I asked her for her phone number and she gave me a dodgy, clearly fake non-UK number. When I pointed out it wasn’t a UK number, she just hung up. Since then, these calls have been coming through two or three times a day. This last time I used 1471, and the number showed up as 0121 427 7651.

Didn’t pick up cause I didn’t know the number. Seeing what others said makes me think twice now, but I might just answer next time to mess with them. I’ll let you know if it happens again.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent saying she was from BT. She told me my broadband was hacked or something. Definitely seemed like a scam, so I reported it to the police and fraud team. Would recommend others to do the same if they get this kind of call.

Some bloke rang saying he was from BT Openreach, talking about issues with my internet security. I asked him for his number because I already had the same number saved from a previous call. He gave me a so-called ‘official’ BT Openreach number, which was clearly made up. I confronted him about what he was really doing and if he felt okay tricking folks like this. He ended up saying sorry and just hung up on me! Be careful, don’t let these dodgy callers get near your PC! Stay safe!

My mum got loads of calls from this number today. I was with her when it rang, and I’d just looked it up on this site. Told the caller I was about to give him a proper telling-off to make him buzz off in no uncertain terms - and luckily, they stopped after that.

This bloke claimed to be from BT Openreach, telling me there was some dodgy activity on my internet and that they were about to cut it off. When I asked for details about the so-called 'illegal activity,' he got really rude and told me to be quiet and just listen. Didn’t fancy that, so I just ended the call!

I got a call from a woman claiming to be with BT saying my internet would be cut off within a day. I told her she wasn’t and, to my surprise, she just ended the call. This is actually the second time today I’ve had one of those calls, and I reckon I get them a couple of times a week. Meanwhile, my internet’s still up and running fine haha.

This week i’ve gotten loads of calls while recovering from surgery at home, it’s been nonstop. Every time i challenge who’s calling, they just shut off the line straight away. Their story is all about my PC having some nasty virus that’s supposedly messing up their servers. Thing is, most servers these days are pretty locked down and arent really vunerable because of some home wi-fi. Quite annoying really.

Some bloke called Stanley Johnson claiming he was with BT - total tech support con. I ended up keeping him on the line for about 30 minutes just messing about. Honestly, don't let these lot onto your PC, they'll try charging you for fixing stuff that isn’t even an issue. Stay well clear!
