My landline rang and it was obvious straight away it was a scam - I didn’t even wait for the message to end. Like others here, my home number isn't tied to any account of mine, so even if the recording sounded legit, I’d have just ended the call anyway!

I received a rather alarming automated call claiming to be from MasterCard's security team. They informed me that my card had been used for a hefty £600 transaction and prompted me to press 1 for further information. This is not the first time I've encountered such a ruse-previously, I went down to my bank to verify. It’s definitely a SCAM! Whatever you do, do not engage further with the call. And steer clear of calling your bank immediately, as you might still be linked to the dodgy caller-number: 01214274419.
