Received a call from someone pretending to be from O2, touting some discounts. I politely declined, mentioning that I wasn't interested. The chap seemed rather baffled by my decision not to take the offer. I simply ended the call.

Received a call purporting to be from O2, promising me a 30% reduction on my existing contract. The thing is, I’m not even with O2, so how on earth could he offer me that sort of deal? He had a noticeable foreign accent, which made me a bit suspicious. I mentioned that I was recording the conversation for a bit of fun, and then I quite bluntly asked him to clear off, showing my true feelings about his type, which I'm not ashamed to admit can be quite narrow-minded.

Received a call purporting to be from Vodafone mobile. The background was a cacophony of call centre chatter. A woman on the line insisted that I had a contract with them - to which I promptly replied, “Err, no I don't.” She then corrected herself, saying, "Ah! It seems it’s a business phone then!" I countered with a firm, “Nope, you’re completely mistaken. Enjoy your Christmas!” and promptly ended the call. I wasn't sure if they were trying to fish for my details or simply inept at their sales pitch.
