I got in touch with Virgin Media to ask about this number, and they told me it’s got no connection with them at all. I reckon it’s someone running a scam, pretending they can sort you out with a cheaper Virgin Media deal when your current contract finishes. I’d guess their aim is to get your bank info and nick money from your account.

Just got a call, I picked up and said hello then the call dropped after a few secs, lucky really as I’m a Virgin customer and might’ve fell for it thinking its a proper call 🤦‍♀️. Just had a word with my neighbour and they said they’ve had the same, said its a Virgin scam number pretending to be customer support.

Got a call from an 020 number on my home phone. When I checked with 1471, it turned out to be a Birmingham number. The caller claimed to be from Virgin Media, saying it was about some changes I supposedly made (which I actually did). They asked for security info but I said I only give that out when I ring them first. After that, they just said have a nice day and ended the call.

Lately I’ve been getting loads of scam calls, just had one again the other day. I called him out on being a scammer, and he got a bit snappy with me. I told him Virgin Media customer service would never be so rude. I told him to put the phone down :) He was like, “You can hang up if you like,” lol. After that horrible chat, I looked up the number and found out that out of the 20 scam calls I’ve had recently, this one was actually Virgin Media! 😂 01213938484 is a proper scam number though.

Got calls from people pretending to be Virgin Media, trying to sell me extra packages as if they were special offers. They even had some of my info, which made it sound legit. Luckily, I’m rubbish at thinking on the spot and I just told her to buzz off. I rang up Virgin Media afterwards and they said it’s definitely a scam. They kept ringing so I just blocked their number. Found out about this site after, which was helpful. Best thing to do is just ignore and block them straight away.

I received a call at exactly 17:54 on Thursday, 7th December 2023. The caller claimed to be from Virgin Media, probing for my account information, which I outright refused to share. When I mentioned some points regarding GDPR and the standards of customer service at VM, the woman on the line dismissively asked, “Are you finished?” and then seemed to mute the conversation at will. To me, this speaks volumes about her intentions. I've decided to categorise this as a potential scam call.

Got a call about some expiring offers. They told me to ring 150 if I wanted to cancel any services since it wasn’t their department. I naively gave my address when asked. Then they put me on hold and just cut the call. Now I’m worried what trouble this might cause.

Got a call from someone saying they were Virgin Media, total scam. They wanted my name and if I was the account holder. I said no, just a mate, and they asked if I was allowed to speak for them. Legit, Virgin Media only talks to the actual account owner unless you’ve arranged otherwise. I nearly got caught by this once. Every time you call Virgin Media, these scammers seem to be eavesdropping. Then, a couple of weeks later, they ring back trying to trick you. Watch out, it’s proper dodgy.

Got a call earlier on my mobile from a woman with an accent I couldn't place, claiming to be from Virgin Media. She said she wanted to chat about some discounts and mentioned the call would be recorded for training. She asked me to confirm my name, which I did, then requested the first part of my address. I said no, told her she should already have that info and that I don’t share personal details over the phone. That was the end of the call - she just hung up. Definitely felt like a scam to me!
