01213922516 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 01213922516 👆 is reported as a persistent nuisance call primarily linked to a scam involving “heating on benefits” or free boiler schemes targeting those on government benefits. Callers often use Birmingham numbers but are suspected to operate from overseas call centres. Many recipients, including those on the Telephone Preference Service (TPS), experience repeated intrusive calls, silent hang-ups, or aggressive sales tactics. Requests to be removed from call lists are generally ignored, causing significant frustration, especially among vulnerable and disabled individuals. The number is consistently associated with cold calls that exploit perceived government initiatives but are widely deemed fraudulent. Blocking the number and reporting to the ICO is recommended, as official regulation and TPS enforcement are considered largely ineffective in preventing these unwanted calls.

This number called me but hung up right away before I could pick up - didn’t leave any voicemail either. Seems fishy cos the number looks longer than usual, maybe a spoof call? I’m on the TPS so shouldn’t be getting any cold calls and only share my number with close mates/family. Have reported it to TPS and ICO.

I’ve gotten somewhere with this, the phone number is currently rented out to Magrathea (a quick internet search shows a UK link with an email). Got in touch with them and asked if they could tell their client to stop calling my number. Magrathea said the scam calls didn’t come from their network but still agreed to tell their client to remove my number. Honestly, Ofcom should be dealing with this, that’s what they’re meant to do. I think the same scammers are now using 01157786195.

They called me again but this time from 01157786195 - same old trick about benefits heating. I let the bloke run on, then I hit him with a bit of the Koran, said somethin’ about how Allah says thieves should lose a hand. Once he caught on to what I’d said, he just disappeared.

As someone living with disabilities, it can be quite a challenge for me to reach my landline, so you can imagine my frustration with these thoughtless and avaricious companies that feel entitled to pester us at all hours. Even though I’ve ticked all the boxes with the TPS registration, these nuisances seem to have no regard for it. It’s time to impose heftier consequences - maybe a fine of £500,000 or a two-year prison sentence would finally make them reconsider their relentless tactics!

This particular number has been ringing me repeatedly lately. At first, I would pick up only to be met with eerie silence on the other end, followed by the sound of a dial tone. Nowadays, I just let it ring out, yet it continues to harass me at the most inconvenient hours. Honestly, at this rate, I wish someone would come up with a device that sends them packing!

On Friday, these lot rang me six times and then again on Monday. I’m having a bit of a laugh with them, I just wait for them to do their spiel (trying to bore them out) and then I start talking about how Allah commands thieves to lose a hand and forbids lying. You can find this pretty easily in the Quran, loads of decent sites have it. Then I tell them spoofing numbers and trying to fool me into giving info is basically theft and dishonesty, which it clearly is.

Some bloke with an Indian/Pakistani accent was proper pushy even after I told him I’m just renting the place. Didn’t seem to care at all - if it was legit they’d get that tenants can’t sort this kinda stuff. The main thing he kept banging on about was if I’m on any UK benefits! I had a feeling they were scammers right from the start, but seriously, how do you put an end to these muppets?

If you do pick up, why not mess around with them a bit? Jump in before they say anything and bombard them with loads of random, silly questions without giving them a chance to reply, like "Did your cat ever learn to dance?" "Fancy a quick game of hide and seek right now?" "Ever met someone who can wiggle their nose really well?" "Have you ever stolen a biscuit from the tin and denied it?" "Do you like your tea with milk or without?" Just chuck any daft stuff you can think off. Most of the time, they hang up fast and never call back.

Make sure to report every annoying call to the ICO. They’ve got the power to fine these businesses up to half a million quid. If they crack down on a few, it might put others off. The more folks who complain to the ICO, the better chance we have of stopping these calls.

Im registered with TPS and my number isn't listed anywhere, so how are they even calling me? Would be great if theres a way to block them. I managed to get a bit more info from these lot. The 0121 number is definitely a scam, the bloke (strong Pakistani accent) claimed he was in Wood Green, London and said the dodgy number was a "computer" one, not an actual phone. He said he worked for "heating on benefits". When I mentioned the ESA/LPG gas/20 years thing, he told me he’d pass me to the Verifier who’d check my details and set up a house visit that’d happen within 48 hours. That’s where I drew the line, no way I’m letting any random con artists or dodgy people into my home.

I reckon this mob's got some way to track what you do online at home, cos a couple days back I was just looking up boiler info and then this number rang me with a scam. Thankfully, my brilliant phone with answerphone and call guardian stopped it dead. Since we got this phone two months ago, the rubbish calls have dropped from like 18 a day to barely 3 every two weeks. Definitely worth the £25 or whatever I paid at A---s!

I had one of those typical phone calls about heating benefits. The chap on the line chatted with me briefly, inquiring whether anyone at my home receives benefits or pension credits, as well as the type of heating system we utilise. I mentioned that my wife is indeed receiving benefits and we heat our home with gas. He seemed rather enthusiastic as he “assisted” me in clarifying that my wife is on ESA and we rely on LPG gas in a residence built two decades ago. He then exclaimed, "That's splendid news!" and informed me he'd transfer me to the next agent who would handle the matter. He even shared some catchy phrases to use when speaking to them. At that juncture, I decided to end the call. From what I gathered, he was likely a preliminary agent, probing to determine whether our circumstances aligned with their criteria. If they did, he would have connected me to the next representative in the queue. - caller: possibly a data collector.

This number has rung me twice today and numerous times throughout the week. In a fit of annoyance, I finally picked up the phone today and found myself speaking to a man with a thick accent who claimed he could put a stop to nuisance calls - marvellous, isn’t it? He mentioned he could install some gadget and asked how many phone lines I had. Naturally, I ended the call right there! Just another entry on my growing list of pestering calls about boilers, PPI, and all those supposed accidents I’ve had. Honestly, can’t someone put a stop to this madness? If I’m interested in their so-called offers, I can easily look into things myself. I certainly won’t entertain a dodgy deal from a stranger on the phone!

I've had a right nuisance of a time with this number, ringing me for the third time this month! Each time it's been someone with a thick accent, inquiring if there are individuals in my household receiving benefits. They claim that we could qualify for a free boiler due to some new government initiative. However, the moment I request the name of their company and how my details ended up on their radar, they promptly disconnect the call. Quite suspicious if you ask me!

When I asked where they got my number from, the guy just dodged the question and kept repeating their spiel about free heating for those on benefits. He claimed I’d signed up for something like this before and that’s why they had my details. I haven’t, so I told him that and asked to be taken off their list. Fingers crossed they don’t ring again. Had a similar call a few weeks back and I just blocked that number.

They've rung me up again today, that makes the third time. Say they're from Heating on Benefits or something like that. Told them twice already to quit calling me, third time's enough. Blocked their number now.

Absolutely awful - I get calls like this every single day, all from different numbers as well. I even contacted my MP but no help at all. I’m signed up with the TPS too. The regulators seem to be too cosy with the phone firms, who would probably do something if the utility company faced fines as well.

Got a call at 5pm claiming I could be eligible for some government scheme and asked if anyone at my place was getting benefits. When I asked how they got my number, they said I’d qualified before (which is total nonsense). When I kept pressing for the source of my info, they just hung up. Definitely a scam, very frustrating especially since we’re signed up with the TPS.

Really happy I didn’t pick up after seeing all these replies. It’s so frustrating that folks can just buy your number like that. I’ve blocked them straight away.

they really ought to get rid of these scam callers for good

Yet another dodgy caller who just keeps ringing. TPS, OFTEL and this site barely do anything to block these irritating muppets.

Got another ring about benefits and heating. It was an Asian lady who didn’t speak much English, and there was loads of noise buzzing away in the back.

Got loads of calls from these idiots claiming free boilers - the number's from Birmingham but you can tell it’s a scam from Asia, like always women with thick foreign accents and noisy background.

Had a call from someone speaking with a strong Far East accent, trying to sell a new heating system to those on particular benefits. I said no thanks.

Wasn't on my contact list so went straight to voicemail, then they just hung up. Doesn't seem to care about the TPS. Number's now blocked.

This number wasn’t saved in my contacts so I just ignored it. Honestly, why do folks pick up calls from strangers? If it’s something urgent, they’ll leave a voicemail. Just don’t answer numbers you don’t know!!

I've received a second call this week from this number. When I probed about the company's identity, I was informed it was the well-known outfit 'Heating for Benefits'. Previously, they went by 'Green Energy' or a name to that effect. The woman on the line inquired if anyone in our household was on benefits, as apparently, we might be entitled to a complimentary boiler. I pointed out that we’re registered with the Telephone Preference Service and shouldn't be subjected to these calls. She claimed they were operating from the UK, but with that typical call centre twang, I have my doubts! Whether it's a scam or not, I can't help but wonder why the TPS isn't blocking these calls, especially when they’re using a Birmingham area code.

Heating benefits again - this number called me twice this week. When I asked which company, they said it was the 'well known' 'Heating for benefits'. Last time they called themselves 'Green Energy' or sumthin like that. The lady asked if anyone was on benefits cos we might get a free boiler. I asked where they were ringing from as we’re on the TPS list so shouldn’t get these calls. She claimed they’re UK-based but with that obvious call centre accent, I highly doubt it! Scam or nah, why does the TPS not block calls from numbers with a Birmingham code?

Even though I've signed up with the Telephone Preference Service, those pesky calls keep coming in. Each time I pick up, it’s the same irritating automated message about assistance for heating bills aimed at those on benefits. It’s becoming a right nuisance!

I'm curious if anyone else has received any perks from this lot. It seems like yet another boiler room scam. They’re nearly as sketchy as those in the banking sector and the politicians, if you ask me.

Heating on benefits again. I can’t stand it anymore.

They rang me once more, but hung up right as I picked up. Blocked for good!

Another day, another scam call :-( they’re faking the number again. Honestly, if you’re on the Telephone Preference Service and have your caller ID on, a genuine business wouldn’t risk calling you - they don’t want to get fined. And a blocked or foreign number could be absolutely anyone. So how can these constant random calls from everywhere really be legit? It’s got to be a scam, no doubt about it.

Claiming they’re from Benefits, but that Indian accent sounded so fake. Total scammers.

Rang me up but then just cut off as soon as I picked up. It baffles me why Ofcom, which we all contribute to through our taxes, isn’t taking action against this irritating caller. There’s been a whole heap of complaints regarding this number and others like it. What’s going on?
