Got a call from these lot earlier, they knew me by name and even said my old address. Told them I wasn’t there anymore and gave them the new one as Winson Green Prison. Got a random call from someone with a foreign accent but a very British sounding name. I’m not one for chatting to cold callers so I just told him to hold on and then left my phone alone. Got a call from a Nigerian bloke using this number, asking for me by my last name. I told him that the name he mentioned wasn’t mine, gave him a fake name and said I wasn’t keen on whatever he was trying to push. Since then, I’ve had three more unwanted calls this week asking for the fake name I gave that friendly Nigerian chap! Looks like he went and sold my number and the fake details I fed him. Just like loads of other people, I get these calls too. Since I’m the only one who knows my landline number, I don’t hold back and start off with a proper rant as soon as I pick up. They might ring me over and over during the day, but I have big speakers and sometimes blast really loud tunes or shrill noises into the receiver. The bloke might have been doing some market research, which aint against the law. Companies and the Government need folks to do that kinda stuff. He knew my name and address, then asked for more info "for security reasons" which sounded like a load of rubbish to me. I struggled to understand him, told him so, and then he just mumbled and hung up. Quite suspicious if you ask me.

Got three calls within just 5 hours and when I finally managed to speak to someone, they said my info was taken from public records. But how? My number is ex-directory. I just switched providers and now use a BT line. Since then, I've had far more dodgy calls in 5 months than I did in 12 years with TalkTalk, where I never had a single nuisance call. Feels like BT or their partners are handing out details. And when you challenge the callers, they just hang up - no politeness to even stick around. Got a missed call while I was out, glad I didnt pick up after reading all the comments here. Earlier today, I got a call from some bloke calling himself Jack Martin, said he was from Ask UK and wanted to ask me a few questions. He wouldn’t explain why he was calling and when I kept asking, he just ended the call. Had a really strong foreign accent, couldnt make much of it, so not sure he was really called Jack Martin at all!

Just got a call about 5 mins ago from someone saying he was from nPower, wanted to confirm my electricity meter number. When I asked him which address my bills were sent to, he came up with some fake company and address. The bloke sounded Asian.

some bloke with an asian accent said he was from askuk or something and wanted to ask me questions. i asked why and he just said "it's for your own good!" then i told him my phone number is on the tps list and that calling me was against the rules. i told him to take my number off their records. he still kept pushing with his questions, so i just ended the call!

Got a call from askuknow (###), they already knew my name and postcode then asked about my age range. I said I wasn’t sharing personal details, then I asked what they were trying to sell. They said they weren’t selling anything. I asked if they could hold for a sec while I checked them online, but they said they were short on time. After a moment, they just hung up when I stopped to read the info I found.

An elderly woman has been getting loads of calls from this number but every time she picks up, the caller just drops the line.

I received a phone call from these chaps today. Their heavy foreign accent made it quite challenging to decipher what they were on about, so I decided to hang up. In hindsight, I’m really pleased I did. They had even managed to reach me on my work line and seemed to already know my name!

I received a phone call from that very number and made it clear that I didn’t wish to be contacted again. I explained that I’m only permitted to converse with individuals I recognise, as my daughter has cautioned me about such calls. The caller suggested they could visit me at my residence, but I resolutely refused to share any details and stated firmly that my daughter would be present and would deal with them. These persistent calls have been coming through for several weeks now, and my blocking list is overflowing, leaving me at a bit of a loss as to how to put an end to this.

this number called me this arvo claiming to be from ask uk. they wanted me to verify my address (which they already had). when i refused to share info over the phone, the bloke told me to "bugger off." ive only had this phone number for a couple weeks, so it’s probably been passed around by sky.

I just got a ring from 0121 368 1180, sounded like a lad. He actually knew my name, but when I kept asking who was on the phone, he got really rude, started having a go at my parents, swore at me and then cut me off. Real lovely bloke!

This number has been ringing me constantly, and I’m considering lodging a report. It’s quite baffling how they got hold of my phone number; I’ve only had my line set up for a fortnight and haven’t shared my details with anyone! Quite odd, if you ask me.

I've received a handful of calls from this number over the past few days and, to be honest, I don't pick up calls from anyone I don’t recognise. We've installed a call blocker to filter out the nuisances, but somehow, this one slipped through. I’ve now blocked it myself as well, though. They left a rather alarming voicemail claiming to be from HMRC, saying there’s a charge against my name and prompting me to press 1 to speak to my case handler. Seriously? Like I'm going to fall for that! I can imagine how distressing this must be for some individuals. I intend to escalate this and report it properly.

they keep ringing me nonstop, and when i say i don't want to talk, they try to make me stick around to explain why i wont answer their questions. i've asked them loads of times to take me off their calling list but no reply at all. seriously, companies like this should be shut down. next time they call, i might just have to get rude with them, no other choice left.

There's this dreadful woman named Angel who keeps ringing my home non-stop. I'm utterly baffled by what she's trying to peddle or achieve, as she keeps repeating the same questions like a broken record. I've explicitly asked her to take my details off whatever list they have and to cease all calls, yet, here she is again, ringing back. I haven't got a clue who this company is or what their intentions are, but it’s quite unsettling that she knows my name and address. Quite concerning, really!

Got a call from this number saying they were from askuk. They said they needed to ask me some questions - I told them I wasn’t interested, but they kept going. After I said no again, the person called me a ‘b###h’ and hung up. What a cheek!

They call from overseas numbers but it shows their own number, early Saturday mornings usually. Luckily I have a phone that lets me block these numbers, but I’m having to block at least a couple every week now. When will there be proper laws against this kind of data selling and annoying cold calls? It’s so invasive and creepy, pretty much like someone knocking on your door in the middle of the night.

Got a call at 8:55am on a Saturday from a bloke saying he was Mark Williams, had all my info - name, address, the lot! I asked if he even knew the time, he just repeated where he was calling from. Asked to speak to a manager and he just said “nope, can’t do that!” then wished me a nice day and hung up! A nice day after waking me up before 9 on my day off? Seriously? Tried calling back but the number only works Monday to Friday 9-5. Funny how it’s Monday to Friday only, huh!

We've now put a block on this number, but they keep persistent in their attempts to ring us! They're claiming it's for a survey and are asking for your name and some other personal details before they'll take you off their list. Quite dodgy if you ask me!
