Got a dodgy call pretending to be from my bank, then they rang me back using a local area code - total scam!

This is just a con to frighten you into thinking money’s been taken from your account twice. Best thing to do is just end the call and blacklist the number. Afterwards, they might ring back pretending it’s a local number with your area code, hoping you’ll answer. They’ll try the same scare tactic, saying money's been withdrawn without your permission. Don’t fall for it, just hang up again and block them. Legit banks definitely wouldn’t handle things like this.

Someone called saying BT caught us using the internet without permission and that they're going to do something about it. Sounds dodgy to me.

Got a call about £900 supposedly charged to my Visa card, sounded like a total scam. I just hung up straight away.
