Someone rang me earlier asking if I wanted to answer a survey for Hastings council. At first, it sounds legit since people can easily tell your area from your phone code. But honestly, I got caught out about five years ago with a real survey and ended up bombarded with calls about stuff we discussed. Now I’ve learned to just tell cold callers two things. One, I don’t do surveys and two, I don’t handle any business over the phone. Usually, I then give my email but they just end up hanging up on me.

Its a research firm named MEL research. Our company has actually hired them recently to conduct a survey for us, so atleast this time its a real business looking for info for research. Guess that clears it up a bit!

They used to call me every single day, so one time I picked up and said, "Hello Acme Chinese Takeaway, what would you like to order?" They started talking but I kept cutting in, saying stuff like, "Sorry mate, we don't have that on the menu, fancy some tasty spare ribs instead?" Then they just hung up. It's been like three weeks now and no calls from them at all!

Some business was ringing me about accommodation info, said the MOD gave them my contact. I joined in but had to hang up early, and now they just keep calling non stop. Couldn't really understand them cause of their accent either.

It seems this number is associated with BE Seals (http://www.bhseals.com/). However, I can't quite fathom why they’d be trying to get in touch with me. It's not like I’m a regular customer of theirs!

I keep getting bombarded with calls every single day. Whenever I pick up the phone, it goes silent, as if they’ve just vanished! I have a strong suspicion it’s those pesky PPI scammers. It’s particularly frustrating for someone with a disability like myself. So, I've finally had enough and decided to BLOCK their number.
