Got a call from a guy with a thick Indian accent who claimed there was an issue with my Virginmedia internet. He told me to switch on my computer and check the router number, which he read out to me. When I asked him where he was calling from, he gave some street name that made no sense and couldn’t even say which town he was in. I left him on hold while I thought it over, then came back and told him Virginmedia would never ring like that, and if there really was a problem, it’d be almost impossible to get through to them. He hung up straight away, so I reckon it was a con.
