Some bloke rang me claiming to be from BT OpenReach, saying there was an issue with my phone line. I hadn’t noticed anything wrong and definitely hadn’t reported a problem. He asked if he could link his BT server to my laptop to run some tests. I told him that sounded risky and asked for his number so I could ring him back. He said he got why I was wary but insisted this was the only way to find the fault.
